3rd Trimester

My birth story and PIP

Hi mamas! I haven't been on in awhile because I've been loving all over my little man. But I can finally post my own birth story! Big Smile Sorry it's a little long lol.

On Thursday, June 10th at around 9:15pm I was started on Cervidil to induce my labor. I had an easy night and slept until about 5:30am when I woke up feeling strong contractions and back labor. They checked me at that time and I was 3cm dilated (before they started the Cervidil I was 2cm). They went ahead and gave me the epidural and let me just say that was a life saver because the back labor was so intense. While they were giving me the epi my water broke so luckily the doctor didn't have to break it for me.

I layed there until about 9am then all of a sudden the back labor was back! They came back in and gave me more of the medicine in the epi and that took care of the pain. At that point they checked me and I was a full 10cm dilated and ready to push! The doctor came in and I pushed for about 2 hours. The epi was so strong at that point that I couldn't tell if I was pushing or just holding my breath and making my head feel like it was going to pop. My doctor had a schduled C-section around that same time that she had to leave for because they had already put the other lady under anesthesia. She called in another doctor to come deliever my baby. That doctor came in, got frustrated that I couldn't push right because of the epi and told me I wasn't ready then left me to lay there. I was so upset at that point. I was worried about my LO since he was already making his way down the birth canal.

The doctor who originally was delievering my LO came back to check on me after she finished her C-section and a hysterectomy around 1pm and when she saw that I was still laying there with no baby she was PISSED! She ran in, suited up and had me pushing again right away. My LO's heart rate was starting to drop at that point. I pushed and pushed and pushed for 2 1/2 hours and she made a decision to use the vacuum to help get him out or I was going to have to go in for a c-section. While she was getting the vacuum ready my sweet little nurse asked me if I would like a mirror to watch. After my entire preganacy of saying I wouldn't want to watch that I gave in and decided to see for myself what was going on down there. I was really glad she suggested it because it helped me push that much more. When I started to see his head I took one deep breath and puuuuushed until his whole body came out. I was determinded to get him out of that stressful situation and in my arms right then.

They plopped Jayden on my chest and I cried and cried because I was so happy. My new little love Jayden Lazaro was born on Friday, June 11th at 2:38pm weighing 7lbs 7oz and 20 1/2 inces long. I am so in love and can't wait for you all to experience this.
