Black and White Toile Infant Car Seat

Does anyone have this?  It's made by Graco and the pattern is called Rittenhouse.  I really like it, but it's $150 or so.  A regular one without this pattern is around $75 to $85.  The travel system in this pattern is $300.00.  My question is, does anyone have it and if so, do you think it was worth the extra $ or do you regret buying it?

Re: Black and White Toile Infant Car Seat

  • Its the sungride 32 (it was the safe seat) thats why its so much more then just the sung ride.  The main differance is the sungride and the sungride 32 is the normal sungride goes to 22 lbs 29 inches will last most babies 4-9 mos.  The sungride 32 goes to 32 lbs and 32 inches which last most kids 18-24 mos.  It also has a front adjust where most sungrides have rear adjusts which are harder to use and have a high rate of misuse.  For me because I love to use the infant seat for as long as I can, it has the front adjust and is a pattern I love its worth it but for other people its not.  I hope knowing the differance in the seats and why the price is so differant helps you make up your mind.

  • It's more expensive because it's a Snugride 32, not just a regular snugride. The snugride 32 version allows you to use the carseat until the baby is bigger. The carseat is more expensive because it's a different seat, not because of the fabric option.

I don't have this seat (I have a chicco keyfit 30) but I looked into getting a graco while I was trying to decide what to get.

  • This is the pattern we were going to get, but realized that we really like Chicco better. This pattern is carried at quite a few places now including Walmart, JC Penny etc. And yes, it is more because it is the 32.

Thanks to everyone for the responses.  This really helps make up my mind.  Just wondering if you have the stroller too and if so what you think of it?  I was just thinking of getting a carseat with a stroller frame and then buying a different stroller later.  I don't like bulky strollers and never ended up using the one that came with the travel system with my other 2 kids.

I believe the Rittenhouse pattern comes in both the Graco Quattro Tour which is the SUV of Graco strollers or the Metrolite which is lighter and smaller.  If you don't like bulky skip the Quattro Tour.  You should be Ok with the Metrolite.

The metrolite stoller is an ok stroller its on the lighter side of travel systems and does not fold as bulky as the bigger Graco does.  I would go with a snap and go then something else later.  I just dont like travel system strollers.  I dont think they push very well.

We went w/the Graco Quattro Tour Stroller in this Rittenhouse pattern, however, the downside w/this pattern was that it didn't come as a system as the other patterns did so I had to register for the stroller and snugride 32 separately which also cost more money. I went back and forth, but truly it's what I wanted and my husband didn't care for the metrolite construction. I haven't gotten it yet, but I should be getting the Graco Playard today so I'll tell you what I think of the pattern once it arrives.

  • Just as an FYI, I don't think it is accurate to say the regular Snugride will only last for 4-9 months.  My bff's child turns 2 in a month and he still fits in it.  My other friend's child just turned 1 and he also easily still fits in it.

I did say most children.  They seem to be the pretty common age  when the child does yes some children have a short chest area and lighter in weight that they may last longer in them.
