and did it change?
We found out this week at 17 weeks and I made the doc give me a percentage on what the kiddo is
He gave me a 95% sure rating. He said I could go out and buy stuff but to hold the receipt just in case.
We have our next apt in two weeks(3 from the last one) and I'm hoping will get a 100%
We aren't telling people till then because I don't want to tell eveyone one thing and then find out it's the other.
Am I being silly on waiting?
Re: what week # did you find out your kiddos gender?
We found out at wk 20 and it did not change. We didn't get a percentage at the time but the Tech and the Doctor both said girl.
Congrats on having a girl!
Just speculating since I would think if he saw little boy parts they wouldn't mysteriously go away in 3 weeks. However, if he didn't see anything, there might be a chance he just missed it?

We found out at 12 weeks via a bloodtest during our NT scan that was free - the ultrasound tech at the time that was doing our NT scan said she couldn't be 100% sure but it looked like a girl. At 16 weeks they confirmed the bloodwork with a ultrasound, still said girl. Then at 20 weeks we had another US at the OB's office and again, girl.
Clearly, they were all right....

I had two amnios with each of my pregnancies at around 17-18 weeks and these procedures involved an ultrasound.
Both times we were told "she's a girl" and both times it was confirmed with the amnio results.
We found out at 15w6d. We went to a place off of the BW8 and 59 called Sneak a Peek Imaging. They do them as early as 15 weeks with a 99% accuracy if they can see. They told us girl at that ultrasound however since it was a girl I was hestitant to believe it since you never know! However we had tons of "money shots" of her and never once did we see a little penis.
My dr does not do any gender determinations prior to 20 weeks, so we just found out again this week she is definately a girl! No boy parts to be found

I don't blame you at all for wanting to be sure. I asked the tech at EVERY ultrasound to reconfirm that Amelia was indeed a girl. I was paranoid.
There's a girl on third trimester who just found out yesterday at 36w 4d that her little girl has a penis.
It was her first ultrasound since 18 weeks and well..things hadn't dropped and developed enough when they had it, but his boy parts were evident now. So...she's scrambling to change her entire nursery now from pink to blue.
No, you are not crazy! :-) Coworker found out at around 16 wks from the doc during a normal u/s that it was "95%" girl. Family bought all sorts of girl stuff for Christmas presents. At the "big" u/s (maybe at 20 wks?), they found out if was for sure a BOY. (they even were filming the u/s - so it's on youtube, them basically finding out that it wasn't a girl! lol)
I have heard it's easier to tell a boy early on than a girl, so I would be more inclined to believe it if it was a boy, but I think I would still wait until the big u/s, "just in case". The mix ups still happen, and you know no one remembers gift receipts and return policies are a PITA. :-)

it was when i was having the level 2 ultrasound and amnio. dr was absolutely sure and then the amnio results confirmed it.
dd was not shy that day at all and he got a good look. we saw the "3 hamburger lines"
Well... the NT scan bloodwork told us girl at 14 weeks, but we refused to tell anyone or buy anything until we got visual confirmation at the anatomy scan.
We got a guess from the tech at the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, but couldn't be sure since she had her legs crossed and wasn't budging... our redo of the scan at 21 weeks to get the rest of the measurements confirmed it for sure.
Thanks gals! There were no leg crossings at all. This kiddo is a moves around a lot which has be skeered ;-)
Those two stories of genders *changing* scare me but surely that's not the norm...right? RIGHT?! lol
this, but at 13 weeks. it was confirmed at our 21 week ultrasound, though my doctor said she'd never seen the blood test be wrong.
found out at 12 weeks with both girls and it (clearly) didn't change. With Marion, it was a tech guess, confirmed with a 20 week u/s and many u/s after that point.
With this one, it was a tech guess, confirmed with bloodwork (done at 12 weeks) and 20 & 24 week u/s

We found out at 39w 4d when we had her and didn't change
Yes, I am no help, just having fun
BFP with no treatment!
At 12 weeks the tech said she was 75% sure it was a girl. At 16 weeks the doc confirmed. Another U/S at 20 weeks. They were all correct.
From what I know, it is NOT the norm for it to change. It happens, but very rarely. I think that's why people like to tell those stories so much.
Oh, and we found out at 39 weeks both times.
