Hi Everyone,
Its time again for our weekly check-in. This check-in is for anyone dealing with clotting disorders, or for anyone doing once or twice daily shots of Lovenox, Heparin, Fragmin, Arixtra, etc. (you are also welcome if you are on any other blood thinners - coumadin, aspirin, etc.) This is a place for us to share our frustrations, worries and triumphs. Please let us know how you are feeling this week, if you've had any new challenges or if you have any new injection tips.

QOTW: Are you on a therapeutic or prophylactic dose of Lovenox?
Re: **Weekly Lovenox Ladies Check-in**
I'm feeling okay. Two weeks left until the induction, so this final stretch feels L-O-N-G.
QOTW: I'm on a prophylactic does, although during the third trimester, my hemo puts me on 40 mg twice a day. OB doesn't do that as standard practice, and I had to push him on it a bit, but I feel good about the decision.
The perpetual hungover feeling is getting old, but I'm dealing with it. I just got back from a week of traveling and trying to figure out how to get myself the shot at the right time. The toughest one was the one I ended up doing in the bathroom of the Denver airport while rushing between flights. No time to let it work it's way in before picking up my bags and running so I did get a bruise from that one.
QOTW: I'm on a prophylactic dose.

I'm feeling a bit better than I have in the last 3 weeks. That or I'm getting used to being sick!
I have a question about the injections. Several times now, when I insert the needle it's fine but when I start to (slowly) push the plunger it gets stuck. After trying my best to push I have to pull it out and stick myself again. When I pull it out and push the plunger it seems fine. I'm really struggling with the double and sometimes triple pricking. Anyone else experience this? Any advice? Not sure if it makes any difference but I'm using Heparin 2x's a day.
Still feeling good (although hungry all the time!).
I'm on a prophylactic dose of Lovenox...60mg 1x/day
I've had twice where I couldn't get the needle in and had to find a new spot, but never the plunger. But I use lovenox so maybe it's an issue with those needles/plungers.

Hi ladies,
I am new this week, my EDD is 9-26-10. My Dr. just wrote a script for Lovenox for me. 40mg/1x day so this ought to be exciting. He wrote a script after my APS test came back positive from 6-9. The reason he was looking was because LO has stopped growing. I haven't started my shots yet, so I will learn more tomorrow about this, and I go in for a follow-up ultrasound to check on Addison on 6-23. Have a great week ladies,
Ashley
Hi, I'm a newbie.
I am due 12/31 with a goal to get to 32 weeks and if I get that far...deliver at 36. So hopefully this baby gets to October/Nov and would love to make it to Dec 10th.
I am on Lovenox for my unexplained severe IUGR, pre-e and HELLP at 26 weeks. So it's a let's try it and hopefully it will help with growth and the placenta will work the way it should.
Right now I am on a prophylactic dose and will not increase unless we catch growth slowing down. I get scanned every 2 weeks and so far I am ahead by 1 day. At this time with Nolan (11 weeks) I was already measuring behind.
Hi there! Baby is still on the inside, but I'm going in to be induced Monday night (to time me coming off the Lovenox on Sunday), so she'll probably be here by Tuesday! I'm so excited and nervous all at once.
QOTD: Lovenox is both prophylactic and therapeutic for me...I struggled with infertility and couldn't get pregnant until taking Lovenox, so in that way, it's therapeutic. I've never had a clot that I know of, so in that way it's prophylactic.
I'm doing pretty well and the babies are great. My OB wrote me out of work so I'm trying to lay low and keep these babies cooking as long as possible. I'll be making the switch from Lovenox to Heparin in about 2-3 wks. Can't wait to do 3 shots a day rather than 2. :-/
QOTD: I'm on a therapeutic dose. I'm homozygous for FVL so my risk of a DVT is high.
I had my first trip to L&D this week. Started having contractionions on Sunday night, so I drank a ton of water and went to bed hoping the hydration and rest would get them to stop on their own. When I woke up I was fine, but they started again a few hours later and by 10am they were 3-4 minutes apart. Called the doc, they sent me to L&D just to be on the safe side, even though I had a history of early contractions with my first DD (started contracttions the same week with both pgs!) Got to L&D, doc ran some tests, and within a few hours they had slowed and stopped completely, so they sent me home. Let's hope they stay away for at least 5 more weeks.
QOTW: prophylactic. I've had a PE, but it was triggered by a broken femur most likely, not by the MTHFR by itself.
I've got a 40mg/day dose of lovenox. I've been doing it since I was 5 weeks pregnant. Now, at 18 weeks, I've got lots of little green bruises on my belly.
I have noticed that I can only do the shots above my belly button. Below causes waaaayyy too much pain. Anyone else noticed that?
I am on Lovenox (thera dos 80mg twice per day). I feel the same as usual, but have been on Lovenox for a few years now.
On Lovenox due to history of blood clots and factor V leiden.
This is my situation too. Stupid Ortho-Evra.
I spent a week with my 2 1/2 year old nephew so my belly is far more black and blue than it has been up until this point. I also now have one of those painful bruises that's about the size of a lemon, just touching it in the shower hurts so I need to remember to avoid that spot so I don't have a repeat.
I'm on a therapeutic dosage as of my 8th week.
