I am watching this show for the first time and am in complete shock. Anytime I've heard this, I think: There is no possible way you can go 9 months and not know there is a baby growing inside you, no way. These stories are crazy and actually believable.

They are hard to believe haha...I mean at 8 months pg how do you not see a gigantic belly and think..."hmmm, maybe I'm pregnant"
lol...everyones different
My thoughts exactly.
I try not to be ridiculously cynical, but I saw an episode of this the other day where the woman said that she hadn't gained one pound the entire time, and she'd already had two children before that. I found this incredibly hard to believe.
Maybe it was because the 'look-alike' actress they hired for the dramatization spent the entire time walking around in bikini.
I've watched it too and most of the ones i've seen are of college students. I've went to college and I don't know about anyone else but to pass of that much sickness due to stress from your first year of college is crazy, and to blame the weight gain on stress related eating?
I was a "I didnt know I was pregnant" baby!
My mom was totally in shock... my dad too.. (he was a PA at the time!).
My mom was told she couldnt have kids by 6 sets of dr's. They had tried for 6 years prior! Lost weight the whole time... ended up giving up all drinking to keep losing weight.
I was born by c-section @ what they are assuming full term I was 7lbs12 oz and had great appgar scores.
Oh and FWIW she was told I was a freak blessing and that was all the children she would have... I have a sister... then my mom had her tubes tied!
It kinda is like pooping. LOL By the time the baby's head is in the birth canal, its like you have to take a huge poo. You also use the same muscles you would if you were going #2.
Still though, I laughed when I saw that too. :P
I watched this one too, and was in awe the entire time. But her BF said she didn't gain weight either, and even the EMT said she didn't "have a belly"!!
I have a friend who had this happen to her last year....
She found out she was pregnant 4 weeks before she delivered! Her issue was that she had cervical and ovarian cancer in high school and was told by numerous specialists that she wouldn't have children.
Also, while she was pregnant the medication that she was taking for her cancer was a steroid that caused weight gain, nausea, breakouts, etc....all of the likely symptoms from her medication were also those we experience with pregnancy...so she really had no reason to even have it cross her mind.
Crazy huh!!!
Amen.
