Re: PG-Mom-TTC check in

  • I've been getting a lot of BR stuff done!  On Sunday, I got all of the bedding set up in the crib, assembled and put up the mobile, set-up the pack-n-play, assembled the exersaucer and set-up the play gym mat.  I bought Dreft last night and plan to de-tag and wash all of the baby's clothes, blankets and sheets tonight.  I'm in the process of packing my hospital bag.  I've been throwing things in there and have a checklist, but it's not complete.

We had our Moving Through Labor class last Tuesday night and our couples prenatal yoga class on Sunday night.  I actually don't think Bri minded either class too much.  I don't know that I really learned many new pain management techniques, but I'm glad that Bri was exposed to them.

My back is still hurting, but after 3 weeks of this pain, I'm finally getting used to it.

I have my weekly OB appointment this afternoon and I'm actually excited for it.  I'm getting the bloodwork done for my Strep B test (which I pray I pass so I can opt out of the IV!!) and I believe I have an internal exam.

I'm really starting to feel ready for this baby to be here.  Now I'm just hoping that s/he doesn't keep me waiting too long!

In my free hour, I'd lay on the sofa and watch TV.  Sad, but true!

Lots of ::::: baby dust ::::: to our growing list of TTCers!

  • No news. We are struggling with getting B to bed at a decent hour. Thursday night she finally fell asleep and stayed asleep at 1 am and I had to be up for work at 4:30. The rest of the time it is a little better than that but by the end of 3 days of work I am ready to fall over. This past weekend was my first weekend back at work and DHs first time having her all day by himself. Saturday her brought her up to visit (and nurse), and Sunday he said she cried all day Sad. Hopefully it gets easier for him.

If I had an extra free hour, I would probably take a nap. Or play on the Internet. Exciting I know.

  • It's really starting to sink in that this baby is going to arrive soon.  Our house is full of baby items after our showers this weekend, & I feel like we really have most everything we need for her arrival now.

I see the hematologist tomorrow to check in on my platelet levels.  They have fallen from 190,000 (in March) to 116,000 (as of 2 weeks ago).  I'm hoping that when they check tomorrow that they have either gone up or stayed the same.  It was my understanding at my last visit that as long as they stay above 100,000, no interventions will be needed.  He discussed the possibility of putting me on steroids to get them up if they did fall below that level.  That freaks me out, and I really, really want to avoid that.  So, if anyone has any extra vibes to spare, I could use them tomorrow! :)

If I had an extra hour a day, I would definitely take a nap!

  • Angelica is just getting bigger and stronger.  Once she grabs a hold of something, it's almost impossible to take it away from her.  Also, she's developing her little attitude, if I take something awasy from her, I will hear that spoiled cry.  =)
  • Nathan is growing up so fast!  We just had his pro pics taken this past weekend and they came out so good!  He still isn't crawling but he is rolling everywhere!

If I had an extra hour a day - I would totally take a nap!

  • I have 9 working days left.  Which is sort of stressing me because I am just starting to train the replacement for office.  She was sick all weekend and with my being PG, she didn't want to come in and make me sick.

I went for a Dr. appointment yesterday, and I seen a resident instead.  She used to be a Dr. in India, but has to re-do somethings here to become qualified.  It was kind of nice because I didn't have to be in trouble for gaining 2 pounds in 2 weeks, and she did tell me what I have coming up, the strep, but she didn't have very good bedside manner.  She asked if I was having pain or problems, and I lied and said no.  My normal doctor knows my back history and how it bugs me, and I didn't want to have to go through all that with her.

We went to L&D yesterday.  I was a little annoyed, I made the appointment a week ago, was asked to call an hour before, I did, she was paged, and didn't pick up.  When she did, she asked me to give her half an hour, I said sure, and then she said see you at 1:30 with was pretty much an hour away.  Fine, we get there, they have someone going home, so she asks us to sit and wait, we do, for 45 minutes.  I guess I came a little early since I have not started clinical yet (which starts at 36 weeks), but with DH and I's schedule it is kind of hard to find time that works for us both.  So she didn't have my notes, but we did what we could.  It was informative, and has got me more excited/nervous.  There is only 2 rooms for birth, so let's just hope that only one other person is giving birth when I am there, simply because the other room they use is where people go when they are about to die.  Thanks but no thanks.  I got a little overwhelmed by everything we have to take to the hospital for the baby.  So apparently I am going shopping soon.

I am starting to get more tired and more sore and slower. It drives me nuts.

We have a couples shower this weekend!  I am excited about this.

Guilt free hour?  Probably sleeping, lame yes, but I am so tired now.

If I had an extra hour, I think I'd probbaly sleep, too.

  • Not a whole lot going on here... m/s still lingers all day, I've given up on trying to cook meals--I'm just eating whatever sounds good that I can keep down :(  I've been sleeping so much, I'm surprised how tired I am.  I have another appt Monday for all the history stuff, I hope I get to hear the h/b!    And yes, with the extra hour, I think I'd sleep too!

    Vibes and dust to everyone!

  • Miss K turned 3 months old yesterday.  We're going to measure her and weigh her.  I get excited to see how much weight she has gained.

Other than that, we're hanging out enjoying the smiles.  And trying to lose the babyweight.

ETA - I am still worried that she is behind developmentally.  I know that I am crazy and she has an extra two weeks to learn things but I just think she should have more control of her head and bear more weight on her legs for longer periods of time.  I am sure she's fine.

Lots of TTC dust to the ladies trying!

If I had an extra hour, I would be working out at the gym for longer.

This! I'm sooo unproductive becasue I feel like crapola all day long. Hopefully it clears up soon.

  • Any news or updates? Soph is still taking a couple steps at a time, no full on walking across the room quite yet. Though she did walk all the way down the hallway with her hands on the wall. We've mastered clapping, blowing kisses, and she says "bah bah" (bye bye) and waves. Tooth #8 is finally almost all the way through. All we have done is teeth, I'm hoping she gets a little break for a while.

If you had one ?extra? totally guilt free hour a day, what would you spend it doing?

Honestly, I'd spend it with Sophia. I'm in the middle of wedding season and my schedule is absolutely insane. I feel like I barely see her :(

I was there Sunday, too!  Were you there early enough to see the Mascot Softball Game beforehand? OMG we were DYING laughing. We got tickets for both of our families (12 people all together) just for this reason. We LOVE it!

  • Any news or updates?
Siena had her 2 month shots today (yes, they were 1 week late since the Dr didn't want to give them last week at our actual 2 month appointment due to all of her vomiting) & really didn't like it, LOL.  I'm sure part of it had to do w/ the fact that we were there a really long time & that she was hungry.  So all in all, I think she did quite well.
Unfortunately, she's not gaining much weight....only 2 ounces since last week's appointment.  Therefore, we have a stomach U/S on Thursday morning to find out if she has pyloric stenosis.

If you had one ?extra? totally guilt free hour a day, what would you spend it doing?
I'd spent 1/2 of it at the gym & the other 1/2 running errands that keep piling up!!

  • Good luck tomorrow Dani!

Lots of baby dust to those TTC!  Fingers crossed that this is your month!

We started shopping for baby furniture this past weekend and the place we went had a 12-16 week order time for cribs.  This totally threw me for a loop!  I know we can order elsewhere and receive the furniture MUCH sooner, but it made me realize that October isn't really all that far away.  So now I am freaking out a bit.  If it were any other time of year, I would probably be okay, but summer weekends all seem to fill up so quickly and at this point I only have a couple free weekends in July and August, which leaves me scrambling in September/October.  I know it will all come together - it's just that it suddenly hit me this weekend how little I have actually done to prepare.  I've just been floating along enjoying my second tri and not really doing much in the way of planning.  Oops!

  • I'm full term today! Party!!!

We had our 37 week appointment yesterday & my first internal.  He said baby has dropped & I'm 1cm dilated.  Not much, but it's progress!

Yesterday I prepped all of the newborn diapers & I've finally got my bag mostly packed.  I am ready.  Now we just wait!

If I had an extra hour every day I would sleep!

::BFP dust to all of the TTC'ers::!

  • PG:  Still waiting (im)patiently for my first appointment.  2 more weeks!  Ugh!  No real signs of PG, although I had a little icky feeling a few hours ago.  I'm planning to reveal to our families at Caroline's birthday party.  It's been hard keeping it a secret because we've had family staying with us the past 2 weekends and my mom will be here again this weekend.  Once I get through that, it will be easy.

Mom:  Caroline is going nuts with all her walking.  Over the last week she really has started walking with so much control.  Before it would be quick spurts in any direction and then plop down.  Now she is very controlled and goes more slowly and can even change direction.  The only thing is she gets clumsy when she's tired and hits her head on things.  Poor girl!  She pretty much won't eat any baby food now.  She totally wants to feed herself now.  Loves bananas!  She'll eat an entire banana for breakfast all by herself

  • G is doing great! Tomorrow she will be 8 weeks old. This Saturday she is getting her 2 month shots, and then me and her are out to take on the world....We have not taken her many places other than my parents house or the IL's house or to restaurants that are outside. We wanted her around the least amount of people as possible until she got her shots....So look out world, because next week, we have a full week of events planned....

Other than that, G has decided to boycott napping which is so fun for me lol...She will sleep for maybe 15 mins and then pop her eyes open...Thank goodness she is a good baby and barely cries but I still can not get anything done when she is up all day....

If I had an hour to myself....honestly I have no idea what I would do, go shopping probably.....have some "Me" time!!!

  • Update: More bloodwork on Friday and it's finally starting to all sink in that there is a baby coming in December. Still freaks me out a little, but getting excited. I almost fainted at work yesterday but grabbed a seat before I went under. FInally getting a little bump and people at work are noticing it too. I really need to start getting some belly pics before I get huge. I had one major breakdown about getting huge, but I am getting over it. Just trying to watch what I eat.

One extra hour: I agree with almost everyone - give me a nap please.

  • Updates:

I posted about last week's appointment last weekend and I go again this Thursday.  I have really slowed down the past few days, which is so unlike me.  It should be interesting to see what the midwife says this week. This weekend I plan to put the bedding on the bed and install the car seat base.  Last weekend I put together the carriage and took out the infant car seat so it is ready to go.  Can someone please tell my husband to keep his cell phone on?  I can already see that this is going to be a problem when I go into labor.

    An extra hour:

Oh the things that I could do in that hour.  I so need to wash the floors and plant flowers.  However, I would probably just sit and relax since I know what is instore for the future.

  • My belly button is popping out, that's news! :) And we're done with major baby purchases. Yesterday I went out and bought our crib mattress, pack 'n play, crib sheets, changing pad cover, breathable bumper and a few other things. The price tag stings a bit but at least it's over! :)

I'm ordering 7 more newborn fitteds to go with the diapers we already have and then I'm done on diapers too.

Let's just say I'm feeling my stunted income pretty acutely right now but it's all worth it!

Today I'm prepping all of the newborn diapers we have. We need to slap a coat of paint on the dresser and then I can finally put everything away! Baby has been VERY busy in there for the past few days. I've never felt so much movement, so that's pretty fun.

If I had an extra hour each day I'd work. pretty much the opposite of everyone else. I'd love an income right now.

  • Nothing new here.  I'm having what I think (or what Renee thinks) is round ligament pain.  Nothing bad, just annoying.  Last night was the first night I had to get up more than once to pee.  Fun fun.  And, um, my boobs?  HUGE.  Already.  I can't imagine how big these things are going to get.  I'm loving it all though.

I don't know.  I keep expecting the other shoe to drop.  And then I think, "This is it.  Our time has come and things are going to be just fine."

  • I know I'm a day late, but I had a HUGE fundraiser yesterday for work.  We had over 350 people there and it was all on me this year.  Luckily everything went well and my boss was very happy.  Tomorrow I'm on the 'road' for work and will be back Friday then Saturday we are headed to visit family in Pittsburgh.

AF came and visited me last Wednesday.  I really though I was PG though becuase I've never had a cycle that long since I've been off BC.  We are trying again this cycle, but we may miss my ovulation this month since I'm traveling with work so much, but still trying!
