ALARMED at the number of you who posted in support of such a thing as buzz haircuts for boys.
We're not talking about military soldiers who are having their identities shaved away in solidarity, here.
We're talking about shearing the glorious locks from our precious baby boys!
I feel the need to start an anti buzzcut movement.
WHO'S WITH ME?!
sheesh.
Re: I am alarmed.
alarmed and aghast.
I'll keep going.
WATCH ME.
I love longer hair on little boys. If I had one (a little boy) there would be absolutely no buzzing.

Jetta...your kids are a bit of an exception...I wonder if I should put an addendum in here....
the black hair factor makes a big difference...although the little curly fro is a heartmelting look.
hmmm.
maybe it's an anti honkybuzzcut movement...
You know where I stand!
DON'T try to make this a non issue.
SHORN.
neither of your little muffins qualify as depicted in your signature.

Maybe I am biased, but are you going to tell me that L looks bad with a buzz?
This is from last summer.
OK, then I am not a fan of the buzz either, but Sam has walked dangerously close to the line before.
I put barrettes in my kid's hair to keep it out of his face while at the beach.
Clearly, I am anti-buzz cut.
Hell, he even rocks the 70s white boy 'fro.
Maybe someone can be appalled by me putting my kid in borderline speedos...
I won't deny that he is cute- but it's just not the best cut. Does he, by chance have your husband's amazing hair? if you were to cut curls like that off of his head, I would turn you in to the authorities.
No, I wish he did! I wouldn't cut it if he did, but since he doesn't, I don't mind the buzz. Maybe baby #2 will have the curls!
I had to miss the drama my own post started!!!
I don't have a boy, but I don't like shaved heads. Why can't they just have short haircuts?
My little guy rocks the buzz. He's a little toehead and I would love to grow it out, but it's either the buzz or a frightning cowlick.
Last year, we buzzed it so short (#1 clipper), he looked bald. I cried. Noone gets close to my kid with anything lower than a #3 now
ETA: Oops. DH just informed me that DS's haircut is a crewcut, borderline short/tousled on top, not a buzz. Sooo....just ignore me. But the #1 clipper incident was definitly a buzz!

David "BD" 2/8/07 Spencer 9/12/11BOF, I love ya girl but for crying out loud we live in Arizona and it can get up to 120 freakin' degrees. Sometimes I want to shave my head. I get Gavyn's cut shorter than Aidan's b/c he has really thick, coarse hair and when it gets too long it just looks gross. I had a hard time cutting Aidan's so short the first time but now I love it.
I would like Aidan to have more of the 'skater' type hair when he gets older and can take of it though...if he wants to that is.
And can you really say that it looks that bad on my boys? Just look at em'
, they're handsome!
I will not give my boys a buzz cut nor will I allow them to sport the Justin Bieber-do. I am all for a middle of the road haircut for my boys and have it trimmed every 6 weeks.
For DH, I do like the buzz cut. It's better than the "look at my increasingly receding hairline" look.

Buzz cuts just aren't my thing. Some little boys can rock it, but most, IMO look better with a little hair. I had some neighbors with two little boys who both were always kept buzzed very shortly. Looked horrible on the oldest as his hair is very pale blond. Poor kid looks like he's about to go some sort of Aryan Nation gathering. Their other son has dark hair and the buzz is much better on him.
That being said ds and I were just talking about it this morning. I told ds that he could buzz his head if he wanted since it's his hair. I wouldn't necessarily like it but eh, I'd let him do it. Luckily he was very emphatic that he does NOT want short hair. Fine by me.
