Who was your dr if you dellivered at Sisters?

I decided there is no way I am paying 7000 to deliver sophia at suburban when I didn't even like it there to begin with.  I hate having to pay the $3500 I'll have to pay at sisters.  It makes me mad b/c my dr's office does have priveleges at sisters but will only deliver high risk patients.  I told dh let's just save the money and do a home birth.  We have a 2 person jacuzzi tub I could use Stick out tongue

So if you like your dr would you mind sharing their info. If you aren't comfortable posting here you can send me a pm on here or facebook. If you didn't like your dr I'll listen to that too.

  • I told you mine in the post below..

But I wanted to add something else about how great they are.. Pretty much everyone I know goes to them..My sister has gone there since she was a teenager, she recommended them to a friend, and they keep getting recommended to more and more people.. Even one of the ladies from the sisters hospital foundation switched to them because of my sister's recommendations..I have never heard anything bad..  And you know me, I TELL you when I don't like Drs offices!

  • I delivered at Suburban, but my doc also delivers at Sisters. I love her. It's her and her husband who own the practice. He's great too, I dealt w/ him for all my m/c (he did both my D&C's) My mom and her friend (who is a nurse in a OBGYN office) both go there too.

The only downside about the office, is that if you aren't pregnant it's hard to get an appointment w/ her. I just called last week (I'm overdue for my annual) and they couldn't get me in to see her until October. So I'm seeing an NP. I don't mind, but it bugs some people.

Dr. Susan Erk- 631-8212.... I don't know the exact address, but the office is on Wehrle, right next to the golf dome.

yeah, they are highly recommended in the area. Like I said, my moms friend is a nurse at different OB office, and she goes to them. That is how we started going there.

You're in the Amherst/Williamsville area, right? They'd be nice and close too. I travel from N Buffalo because I like her so much!

He is a little hard to understand... has a very thick accent. But I've come to understand him over the years. DH on the other hand always has to have me translate after he leaves the room!

    Good luck!

  • I am delivering at Sisters.  I see Dr. Cloud.  She's in the same office as Dr's. Bartels, Powalski, Weissman and Gavin.  I love Dr. Cloud- she is amazing!  I have met with Dr. Powalski and Dr. Weissman so far and liked them a lot.  I have seen Dr. Bartels in the past and he has little bedside manner.  I haven't heard many people who liked Dr. Gavin but I haven't met with her yet.
  • I delivered there and loved it! I am always going to recommend my Doctor (Dr Pivarunas) because I love him. I love the NP that works with him and the nurses. However if for some reason I couldn't go to him my next choice is Dr. McDonnald (Mc Donnel?). She is amazing. She covered for my doc sometimes on nights and she is wonderful. Totally laid back, knows what she is doing and is great with the babies. She read my sono with Bells and I always loved her when I worked in the Nursery at sisters. I don't think you'll be disappointed there.

PS the labor and delivery nurses at sisters are awesome too.

  • I also see Dr Erk and love her.  She has been so wonderful and supportive throughout all my troubles and both her and her husband have personally called me at home to discuss bloodwork results, treatment possibilities for the recurrent m/c's, etc.  I highly recommend her and would not think of going somewhere else.

But, I will say that dealing with the office can sometimes be a nightmare - long wait times on the phone to speak with a nurse or dr, or have them call you back, a long wait time for appts, etc.  But, since I love my doctor so much, I'm willing to deal with that stuff.

    Good luck with your decision!
