? about YoBaby Yogurt

Wholesomebabyfoods.com says 'plain whole milk yogurt.'  Does YoBaby make plain?  I couldn't find any and I didn't have the time to spend looking through all the yogurt to find whole milk.  It was hard! =P  Maybe I should check a different store?  Is it a bad idea to give her a flavored yogurt?

Re: ? about YoBaby Yogurt

  • Stoneyfield Farms who makes YoBaby doesn't make the plain whole milk in the YoBaby line as far as I have seen.  I buy the Stoneyfield 32 oz whole milk plain.  There is added sugar in the YoBaby so that is a personal choice.  I do buy it on occasion (sale/coupon) just to have as a convenience when we are doing lunch outside the home.  It really isn't that hard to just pour some from the 32 oz container into a smaller container and put in the cooler though. :)

    Hope this helps.

  • They don't make plain - but they make simple ones like vanilla, banana, apple... etc (stuff she's probably already had before as purees).
  • Plain YoBaby is available at my grocery.

It's usually cheaper to just buy an entire container of plain Stonyfield whole milk yogurt.  The little 6-packs are convenient though.

  • They make plain.  I just buy a big container and mix in a little puree sometimes.  The flavored varieties have added sugar  which I don't think necessary.
  • We've had the hardest time finding Stoneyfield plain (the store we used to get it at stopped carrying it) so we went for the vanilla.  We buy it in the big containers.  Probably does have some extra sugars, but we went for it, I'm afraid.  The large containers save you quite a bit over the YoBaby.

  • Thanks ladies!  I'll have to look harder next time, I looked at the big containers but all I saw was low fat.

This.  But I've only seen it at Whole Foods.  DD loves it, btw--she loves pointing at the baby on the outside.  I've been adding in leftover purees that we have in the freezer.

Anyone know why Stonyfield thinks it okay to add sugar to baby food?  Grrr.
