Yall may remember me posting pictures a couple of weeks ago when Alabama Power basically cut a 150-year-old oak tree in my backyard in half and cut down two other trees. Well, apparently there were a few other neighborhoods in Tuscaloosa who have experienced similar complaints.
The newspaper did a front page story on it today. (I didn't write it.) https://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20100615/NEWS/100619795/1007?Title=Clearing-lines-upsets-residents
Then, I got a phone call a few minutes ago from a councilman who has talked to the mayor and is planning on proposing a city amendment to protect the city's older trees from being cut or excessively trimmed. Apparently it will be similar to Mobile's tree ordinance.
YAY for progress!!!!
