Is white noise, like a fan, bad for hearing

I have a fan on medium  setting in LO's room every night.  We have a small place and she would hear everything otherwise.  I know BRU sell white noise makers but from what I've seen/heard it isn't as loud as a fan and automatically turns off after a while.  TIA

    I never heard if it's bad for hearing.

    We have a fan on at all times in DD's rooms. And we have one in our room too.

    Never heard of that either! We had a white noise machine in DD's room and a fan on! Sometimes even the A/C is on! LOL!

    I think it's fine! Helps them to sleep better!

    I think the ones that turn off after a while aren't as good as the fan. When the noise goes away, your LO might wake up. (Kind of like when there's a power outage, most people wake up b/c the A/C suddenly goes off, the fan goes off or whatever normal house noises suddenly stop)

    No it's not bad for hearing.  The only time it would be is if you have background noise on all the time when you are interacting with you LO.  But for sleeping, no.
