having pupils dilated

Abby's going to the opthamologist tomorrow and all new patients get their pupils dilated.  I don't know what to expect or how to prepare abby.  I'm really worried about her.  I HATE having my pupiles dilated, and I know what to expect... I can't imagine how she's going to handle having that done to her.  Any advice?  I'm really worried/anxious about our appointment tomorrow...

  • Oh poor baby!  No advice, sorry.  Hope the doctor and nurses have a lot of exprience with babies/toddlers, and can help out.  GL

  • Nadia's had it done- they just put the drops in while you're in the waiting room and wait. No big deal- she'll be fine! Just keep her out of the sun for a while after!

  • mari- yeah, but nadia was really tiny when she had it done, right?  I'm just foreseeing some nasty reaction to it (attitude, not physically lol)

Oh, and the nurse told me that since her eyes are light (not the avg dark brown) that she'll be sensitive up to 3 DAYS.  ick.
