My friend loves to shop for her LO and can afford to do so. Her LO is about a year older than mine and she just gave me a TON of clothes and shoes for LO. I'm talking easily $2500 - $3K worth of stuff. She wouldn't accept cash but I just do not feel right about accepting this much stuff without giving her something in return. Any suggestions? I was thinking a gift card or something along those lines but I don't know how much? I don't want to offend her by giving her too little but also can't afford to give her a ton. I know she is not expecting anything and is so generous that she would never give it a second thought. But I just feel the need to do it. WWYD?
Re: How to repay a friend for hand me downs?
That's a really nice idea. I know I'd love that.
And I'm sure she'd appreciate even just a really heartfelt thank you note.
that is what I would say. a night out is price less
Being the one who is normally giving the crazy amount of high end hand me downs...she did it because she wanted to! I wouldn't expect anything (not even a thank you note) but I think just a regular thank you note from the heart would be more than enough and mean more to her than a restaurant gift card.
I also like the idea of inviting just her for a girls night and you spring for dinner and a few drinks.
Enjoy your clothes!
Any friend who gives me hand me downs just appreciates getting the stuff out of the house!!! That's repayment enough for them!!!
But yes, a nice restaurant GC would probably be very appreciated. Maybe $50?
Totally what I was thinking! I'm sure she's not expecting anything, but showing her how much you value her friendship is a great way to 'repay' her.
