ultrasound at 14 weeks

in 2nd Trimester
so i know that you normally find out the sex of the baby at the 20 week ultrasound, which i will be having in 6 weeks, but i am 14 weeks now and i have an ultrasound tomorrow. is there any way that they could tell the sex at 14 weeks or not?

    They might but it wont be that accurate.  If they do tell you, I wouldn't go running out to buy pink or blue items just yet.

    at just about 14 weeks is when you can start to tell.  It depends on who is doing the u/s if it's your OB-they really have no training on this...so it's still pretty unreliable.  If it is an experienced tech you can trust their read better.  For girls they will look for 3 lines...a girl can still have a little "nub" at this point too.

    Ditto this.  The techs at our NT scan (12 weeks) and 4D (15 weeks) were both 80% sure it's a boy, but we're waiting for our ultrasound next week to buy anything.

    While it is unlikely to get a 100% answer right now, it is possible. My 14w u/s showed that LO was DEFINITELY a boy! Course we were lucky enough to see him at just the right angle to clearly see his little boy parts Wink. If they don't see much, they'll tell you they aren't certain and that you may have to wait.     We had our last appt Friday.  I'm 18 wks today, so I was 17 and some change.  The doctor said she'd take a gander, and has a guess, but nothing for sure.  Honestly  my personal opinion is don't taunt yourself unless you really don't think you'll be fussed with a "well it might be" kind of answer.  DH and I now have to wait until June 28 to realy know anything.  I'm handling it better than him, but the first thing he said when we left the office is he wish he didn't know b/c the "sorta might a little baby...." is driving him nuts Smile

    well couldnt find out the gender even if we were able to. baby was laying with his/her back laying up. then i started contracting and it looked like baby's head was being pinched off. ..... by the way... how the heck do i get pictures up on here??
