Other than the BFP, to finally O, etc... cause I don't think DH can find that.
Poor DH wants to buy me some happy and get me to celebrate my 35th this weekend and I'm NO help. Not that I'm against celebrating - just lost my shopping mojo.
I swear, I think I'm about to tell him to buy me the 'fancy' laundry room set at Ikea and call it a day. How pitiful would it be to ask for cabinets for a 'indulgent' 35th birthday gift?
We're already doing something but I know he's looking for direction on an actual gift THING...
What indulgent gift would you request?
Re: What's your perfect 35th B-day present?
Yes, I was going to suggest a vacation somewhere!
ETA:
Here are some other indulgences, some are domestic, but I like them anyway:
-KitchenAid mixer, if you don't have one
-top of the line vaccuum cleaner
-weekly housekeeping service
-custom made curtains
-spa package
-piece of furniture
That's a good one. Or any long weekend trip would be lots of fun.
Though, I'm pretty excited over the idea of an Ikea laundry room, too lol. I "oh and ah" over appliances and house stuff all the time!
Well I DID ask what you would want you little lush!
The thing is I already travel a lot and, because work provides me with a "spousal travel" budget, DH already comes with me a lot and doesn't really have much time off from work.
Can I ask him to finish remodeling the guest bath and tile, cabinet-ize the laundry room and get the new washer/dryer installed while I'm gone for 2 weeks? He already does waaaay more than half the work around the house and I feel like such a mooch but that's honestly what I want.
A nice weekend away would be great.
But so would the IKEA laundry room. I mean, I think we all of a sudden realize that we're grownups when we ask for those sorts of things. In a weird way I think it's the *perfect* 35th birthday present!

Butting in from the other board- hope it's ok.
My 32nd b-day is this week and I asked for new lululemon pants (you do lots of yoga don't you?)- I love these pants but can't stand the thought of shelling out $100 for yoga pants- only on my b-day. I also asked for a spa gift certificate for a massage or facial. Just some ideas. I liked to be pampered on my birthday.
For my 35th I got a celebrations ring - similar to the second from bottom but my diamonds are spaced out a bit more - both to commemorate being old and in my 35th year is when we had our two losses - so my ring is my memory jewelry. The hope is that I will get more to stack for happier occasions (as in if we ever have a kid . .or maybe just b/c I'm old again . . .)
but that doesn't help if you don't want jewelry.
My list would def be house fixing up, a spa/spoil you day, tickets to some fabulous show/dinner/night out. ..
I like the weekend away idea or the spa stuff.
When is your acutal birthday?
Spa day~mani, pedi, massage, other fabulous treatment you like
Night out on the town~ dinner and a show or concert or something you normally wouldn't do
Or just get the ikea laundry thing you want
Whatever you decide, I hope you have a fabulous birthday!
Actual birthday is wednesday the 23rd but celebrating this weekend with friends. DH chartered a boat and we're tootling around the potomac river/National Harbor area then dinner at the Harbor.
I know I'm being a PITA but I leave a few days later for 10 days, return for a few days, then back on the road, etc. for the next couple months and a trip away just sounds like more work.
Min - I LOVE those stackable rings. DH had thought about getting me a 35th bday/5 year anniversary/push present ring since they all SHOULD have hit within about a month of each other... I thought about the stackable ones (one for each loss... but that big stack of rings got expensive and depressing)... maybe just a new ring period. I don't really wear rings other than e-ring/wedding band so maybe that.
Tiffany's, right?
DH and I have been going low-key on b-days since we've been out of town for both of ours this past year. The 2 standard things DH always knows I love to receive are either a spa gift cert or a Le Crueset dutch oven (I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to have an entire set).
I love the celebration rings idea. They're gorgeous (and what I secretly want as a push present-- NOT THAT I WOULD EVER ASK FOR ONE).
What about another puppy! If we're going to dream big.
