Finally, a post about my showers w/PsIP (loooong)

Sorry for being delinquent on these!

My first shower was 5/23 in Chicago, hosted by my mom, sister and SIL at bro and SIL's house. There were about 20 guests. There was light lunch food served, then a few games. They had pink and blue plates for the food and they collected and counted each color plate as a poll of everyone's unconscious inclination towards the sex of my baby. Girl won in a landslide. They also did the 'guess the baby food by smell' game. Then, we used an idea from my cousin's baby shower. Everyone drew a piece of paper with an age on it and either 'Baby' 'Steve' or 'Morgan'. For example, 'Baby, age 1' or 'Morgan, age 7'. And the guest wrote a letter to whichever one of us and they will be opened when the baby turns that age. I'm interested to see what people wrote!

Then we opened gifts, we got a lot of great stuff. Swing, convertible car seat, books, some onesies and birth cloths. Lots of bath stuff... bouncer, bottles...two boppies, my brest friend pillow etc. It was great.

Then this past weekend was my shower in Cleveland, hosted by my cousin and aunt. In attendance were 4 of my 5 aunts, one cousin, my sister, 3 sorority sisters who live in Ohio, two of their moms, one of their grandmas, and Ashley B. It was a great group.

We had some appetizers and cupcakes and at this shower each guest made a birthday card for baby to open from age 1-15. Very cute. Then we had presents. I was right that it was mostly stuff that was not of the registry but I'm not complaining! They took a poll at the end of who thinks its a boy and who a girl. All of my family members think boy and all friends think girl.

So, overall, great times. I'm very thankful!
