What to expect at 6 wk PP exam?

Hi all, I have my 6 week PP exam with my OB on Friday.  What all does this doctor visit entail?  Do they do an internal exam at this appointment?  Just curious so I know what to expect.  Thanks!!

  • i had a c-section and all my doctor did was check my incision, blood pressure & weight and write me a prescription for my birth control.  i didn't have an internal exam.

  • My dr just checked how I was healing (I had a 2nd degree tear) and asked me questions to see if I had PPD.

  • Pap, check your healing, push on your belly, things done at your normal yearly appt, discuss bc
  • At mine it was a complete physical. I had a pap done and a pelvic exam. The doctor also checked my stitches and we talked about birth control.

  • My dr. checked my c-section incision, did a quick internal exam (I mentioned still having discharge) and checked that my uterus had gone down. Also did weight/blood pressure, gave me prescription for BC.
  • I expected an internal and a talk about birth control/future babies. When I got there all we did was talk about birth control after he asked if I'd had an OK vaginal delivery.... he didn't even ask about my stitches, how I was feeling up until the 6 weeks check up or if I had any questions. Needless to say I haven't and wont use him anymore.
  • Internal but no pap, weight, blood pressure, discussed not going on bc, and asked a bunch of questions that I am sure were to see if I had PPD.

I should have gotten mine at the end of May/beginning of June but was too busy.

I just got my period yesterday and it's such heavy flow I had to use tampons.  Yea I know.  I'm "that" patient. Embarrassed
