Soooo quiet in this house

Its only day #2 and I am not so sure about this unemployed thing. I haven't been alone in so long I am not sure what to do with myself. I am trying to stay productive. I guess my next step is to deep clean room-by-room and shampoo the couches. But then what? Maybe I should learn to cook? Ugh.

I have been unemployed for 4 months and I have gotten so much done .....another good website for jobs is Indeed.com I really like that one..Good luck:)

You can only job search for so many hours in the day, so you need that *something* that keeps you occupied during the rest of the time. The quiet can be really deafening!

I used to be a quliter! I loved it. Maybe I will finish that quilt I have been working on for 4 years. The only bad thing about quilting is it isn't cheap! Material is crazy expensive around here.

I do have that pesky thesis I need to finish..... but that isn't as fun!!!!

Oh, that sounds like fun! My grandmother used to crochet and knit, but I have no clue how to do it. I guess I could learn on youtube??? I learned how to give myself Lupron shots on youtube - how scarey is that?

I really enjoy it. Both Sean and I are Canadian, so this feels much more like home than those few years we lived in Texas. My brother lives in Vancouver, BC, so we're running back and forth a lot. I'd like it a lot more if houses didn't cost so damn much, but whatever.

About the knitting or crocheting, I taught myself to knit with a book called "Stitch 'n ***". She also has one for crochet called "The Happy Hooker". And there are TONS of videos on YouTube. Just think of all the Christmas presents you can get done!

I learn how to do EVERYTHING on youtube!!! I even installed a garbage disposal system by watching a youtube video! Maybe you can make some youtube videos.

Thats funny! I wonder what I'd make videos about? I know a little about a lot of things, but I am no authority on any one thing (if that makes sense). I guess I am going to tackle the mound of clothes in the bedroom (I washed 9 loads yesterday and today) and then go mow my grandma's lawn. Then I guess I could do homework this evening, although that's like pulling molars at this point.

Maybe I'll get all my house stuff done today and plan an all day bump fest for tomorrow! Suuuuweeetttt!!!!

When I came back from the Peace Corps I had a good 6 months of readjustment and unemployment. What helped was to schedule time to do all the job hunt stuff (wanted ads, online stuff like idealist.org and craigslist) and time to do the applications. Then I volunteered as that helped me get out of the house and socialize. I still volunteer but it is mainly with Archaeology. But I recommend doing volunteer work in things you like or enjoy to make it more interesting and fun for you. I am sorry that you are going through this at such a crappy time to be looking for jobs... I hope the RIGHT thing comes your way quickly!
