**Chicco Keyfit head support Question****

Hi all,

Does anyone know when you can remove the head support from the infant carseat for chicco?  I know that the newborn insert is at 11 pounds, but didn't know about the head support and the manual doesn't say.  I thought it was around 13 pounds or maybe it was when they can hold their head, but I can't remember.

TIA!

  • DD is over 13 lbs and we still have both inserts in. I think I will remove it when I think her head is too big for it lol.

  • he looks very large in it. . but actually, he gets overheated in the carseat and screams whenever we use it . . so I was hoping with removing the inserts . . he won't get as hot and I won't feel like i'm CIO'ing in the car.  LOL!
  • DS is 14.8lbs and we still have his in... we just moved it up so that its a better fit on his head but I will leave it in till it looks like he doesnt fit. It looks so much more comfy for him then without it.

Same here. DS is 11.8 lbs and 23.5 inches and I just moved the straps and head support up. I will remove inserts as I think I need to.

  • Our DS is right at 13 pounds and DH decided to remove the head support the other day just to see what happens.  DS gets overheated in there, like your LO, and we are hoping that having less stuff around him might help.  We haven't taken him out in it since we took it out, though, so we are still waiting to see if it makes a difference.

This! We took the bottom part out, but left the head support since he looked so uncomfy without it.
