BBB vs BRU

I really prefer BBB, but I'm considering doing a registry at both b/c it seems like people are more familiar with BRU and there are more locations. However, I could easily put everything at BBB and just have one registry.

What are your experiences with both stores?  Do you prefer one over the other?  Did anyone do just BBB?   Or is it better to have both options?

Re: BBB vs BRU

  • I was thinking of just doing one at BBB, but when I mentioned it to SIL, she told me to prepare for the complaints from people (like you said, they are more familiar w/ BRU).  I like some decals at PBK, so really wanted to done a registry there too, but don't want 3 registries!  LOL

Honestly, I really like BBB... I think their customer service is so much better than BRU.  I think I may just say F-it and go w/ what *I* want... they are my babies, and I do what I want!  LOL

LOL!  That's what I feel like saying.  The more experience I have with BBB the more I like it and the less I like BRU.  Also, I don't want to just add random stuff to the BRU one when everything I really want is at BBB.  I'm also wondering if by making both registries I'm making it more convenient for others but less convenient for me (i.e., what if I get something from BRU that I want to exchange but the item I want is only available at BBB).

  • You could register at BBB (they DEFINITELY have a better return policy) and then register at Target too... it'd be better than registering at BRU if you really don't want to.  Besides, Target has some of the same items as BBB, like diapers, onesies, etc.  Just put those things on your registry at Target.  That way people have options and you don't have to settle.

  • I didn't have BBB as an option when I registered. I did BRU and Target. Target has the WORST return policies on gifts ever. What I didn't like about BRU was that I registered when I was 6 months pregnant and by the time my shower came around (I was 7.5 months), a lot of the things were discontinued. So I had to go back in and change 80% of my registry, it sucked. I would just stick with BBB.

  • I personally love the selections at BBB a lot better but I know location is what will kill most people. I'm sure they will end up just buying their own gift choices or clothes. It's a tough decision.
  • BBB is so much better in terms of customer service. BRU does not even come close. If there was a BBB in Pines I would have made it my only registry. I ended up only going with BRU because its location was better for my family members. That being said, I didn't have any problems with BRU as far as returns or anything. I just dont go there if I want anyone to actually help me or have any questions about anything. If BBB is close to most of the people who would be purchasing from it, I don't see any problem in making it your only registry.
  • Initially my thoughts were the same as yours. Becuase of the limited number of BBB locations I considered doing one at BBB & 1 @ BRU. Ultimately I never sent out the information for the BRU one because when I went there to put stuff on my registry I got so frustrated because they had NOTHING I liked. I ended up doing ONLY BBB and it worked out fine. Most people went to the store, We had a couple of people who ordered online and had it shipped to the shower location. The few people who did not go to the store ended up getting us gift cards which worked out great because we just went to the store and used it towards items we needed :)

We only had 2 guests that bought off the registry and got us a few cute outfits :)

I registered at BRU for the 1st baby and now I am doing BBB. I cannot take BRU's craziness every time I go to their store. Everything is a mess and  it takes a ridiculous amount of time to find someone to help you. I've had nothing but a wonderful experience with BBB so far - will let you know how it goes after the shower. ;)

  • Thanks for the frank opinions, ladies.  For now, I'm just going to stick with BBB.  I'm going there today with my cousins to finish the registry.
  • BBB is much more organized and empty! I feel like I hardly have to make a line to pay when I go there and there is never anyone making exchanges. I had two registries, one at BRU and one at PBK(for the bedding stuff), because BBB wasn't open at the time.

  • I registered at BBB and BRU. I by far prefer BBB, for not only their selection, but the knowledge of their staff and customer service. Unfortunately, I live in Boca and don't get down to BBB as often as I would like.

For my shower I received about 5 things off of my BBB registry. mainly from friends/family in the Coral Springs/Tamarac area. I think BRU was just more convenient for everyone else.

    Good luck!
