Anyone have a setback with their meds but have them still work? I have been on zoloft for 3 weeks now, and 50mg for 10 days. I had been feeling slightly better, nothing drastic, but I felt my mind was a little more clear, I was able to think about other things occasionally rather than my anxiety and how I felt, and thought if I gave it more time, I would be feeling much better. I know a lot of people say how life-changing antidepressants can be.
But yesterday and today, I feel foggy headed again. I am not super super anxious, but the nervousness is there and doesn't let up like it had been especially in the afternoons. I am now discouraged and frustrated again. Don't know if it needs more time, dosage increase, new med, or what. My psych is out of town for another week or two, my therapist might have some ideas. But I just am waiting to feel "normal" and am so frustrated to be so uncomfortable day in and day out. I hate it. I hate the foggy feeling and just want to be relaxed and go about normal life.
Thanks
Re: zoloft setback
Very normal (at least it was for me) it takes a full 6-8 weeks for the full effect of the meds to work. So what you're experiencing sounds very normal (and I also experienced the same)
Also you're on a pretty low dose, so it might need to be changed. My therapist said the lower dose works great for just the PPD - if you're main problem is anxiety or you're suffering mainly form anxiety, let them know. I am on 200mg but once we got the ppd under control we bumped the Zoloft up to 150 and have just kept going till I get into a better place.
Good Luck

Thanks for the help. My problem is just really anxiety, and while it is better, I still struggle through the days, and thought I was feeling some relief. But now I am not so sure and am frustrated. I will check with my psych and see if she wants to increase meds, etc. I just hope to feel normal at some point! I don't know if this was PPrelated, my son was 14 months, but it was 5-6 months after weaning. But anyways, I am desperate.
It took a good couple of months before I started feeling normal. The nervousness and foggy feeling (I HATED that!) came and went for a while.
I think I was at 100mg for a couple weeks (after I had been on 50mg and then 75mg for 6 weeks or so) before I really, really felt better.
