1. The Labor and delivery rooms are probably bigger than my first apartment. A couch, table and 4 chairs, a huge recliner, plus the beds and monitoring equipment for me and Miss C.
2. The postpartum room is barely big enough to sneeze in. A bed, a very small recliner for DH and one hard chair. Even with that small amount of stuff, it was still crowded.
3. Babies have an ankle bracelet that is RFID chipped. If someone takes the baby into the hall from my room without the nurse first scanning the bracelet, it sets off an alarm and the whole hospital goes into lock down. Doors and elevators automatically lock, and they have to do a head count of every infant on the floor before releasing the lock.
4. The hospital doesn't have internet access. We were planning to post pictures ASAP for our out of state family and friends. Thankfully, my dad has an air card for his business that he is going to let us borrow.
I seriously can't believe I'm pregnant enough to go on a hospital tour!
Re: Things I learned from my hospital tour this weekend
Yeah, Robert was seriously bummed when he realized what he had to sleep on while we were at the hospital, compared to what he got to sleep on during my stint in L&D.
And my mom accidentally set the baby alarm off at the hospital because she was taking Avery back to the nursery as someone was getting in the elevator. HILARIOUS.
This was Wes as well. HH really needs to switch that around I think. Wes was more than ready to get into our own bed after 4 nights in the hospital!
Yes I am delivering at Baptist East also! That is why I was wondering if that is where you were talking about.
