So DH's grandmother asked us if there were any big ticket items we needed. My mom is taking care of the crib and dresser so there was really not much, except for my pump. Well it's kinda expensive at 280 so we were seeing if that was too big ticket by asking DH's mom.
Well she doesn't know the price range but was curious about what could possibly cost that much. So DH sent her the link and later on we got a call asking us what the name was again (uhm its in your email...) and when DH asked why turns out she's looking it up on eBay because it'll be cheaper...
UHM EWWWWWWWW
Normally I LOVE eBay but this is one thing I draw the line on. I would only ever accept a used pump if A) if came from a very reputable rental place (like Le Leche) or someone who I knew personally and trusted to be clean and what not. I know a lot of part are disposable or changeable but still its gross.
Tell me I'm not nuts about thinking its absolutely disgusting to get a breast pump off eBay.
Re: My MIL has lost her mind...
No I have to agree. JMO I would not get a used pump from someone I did not know.
My sister offered me her pump. As much as I love my sister she has been known not to keep things all that clean. I politely told her I just wanted my own.
If I trusted the selller and it was "new in box" maybe. and that's a big maybe. I think i'd rather spend my own money and get exactly what I wanted.
from a store.
