Fear of water breaking?

Is anyone else afraid of their water breaking in public? Every time I get up or go somewhere, I'm so afraid my water is going to break in the middle of the office/store. I know it can not even happen until I am in full on labor at the hospital, but the thought of it happening in front of a bunch of strangers is keeping me on my toes!

  • I was...but was told most people's water break at night and at home.  Well my luck and not to scare you but it broke during the day and in my car in the parking lot of a bunch of stores.  Lucky I had my best friend's cousin with me lol.  It also was the day of my best friends wedding and I was her moh!

I was afraid of this happening to me, but luckily mine never broke.  I had to have it ruptured at the hospital.

  • Right now my biggest fear is of it happening while in a meeting with the owner where I work.

FYI, this is not true.  I didn't really know I was in labor until my water broke!!

Oh I know, I just mean that some people's water doesn't break right away and it has to be broken for them once they are in active labor at the hospital. Others don't have any signs of labor and their water breaks. I'm just saying...you never know if it will happen in the beginning or far into the labor.

  • But Jennifer, think of the number of people whose water actually breaks naturally. (That sounds awkward.)  It is just a small percentage.
