IVF #1 might be canceled :(

Well I might be shut down before we even get a shot at it. Saturday my E2 level was sky high and today at the monitoring appointment it was 3,659 with over 35 measurable follicles and a ton more on each ovary that are under 11mm.

They gave me ganirelix and are having me do 37.5 units of follistim tonight. Saturday they didn't let me do any. They are obviously really concerned about OHSS. I am chugging gatorade and powerade.

I am so sad. I really don't want to have come this far to stop but obviously my health is the #1 priority so if I have to, I have to.

I will find out for sure tomorrow. If I am allowed to continue then I will trigger tomorrow on my 8th day of stims and the ER will be Thursday morning!

Has this happened to anyone and gone on to be able to do the ER?

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I have not had experience with what you are going through, but I know what it is like when you don't get to finish out an IVF attempt. Hopefully, things will turn out for you though - I am keeping my fingers crossed that things work out!

I don't have any personal experience, but my one IRL friend that did IVF had to "coast" her first cycle (go for several days without meds) because her E-2 was so high. She was eventually able to continue the cycle and got 31 or 32 eggs. Good luck!
