I got an 8x10 canvas at Hobby Lobby (2 for $3.99) and I am doing the words Best Dad Hands Down on it and Aubrey's hand prints in the center for Wes.
For my dad and Wes' dad we have pictures of Aubrey spelling out I heart(it's a heart shape, not the word) Pop(my dad) and Papa(Wes dad). I made the letters out of foam board since it's fairly steady. Then I put them in those three framed picture frames (found those at Hobby Lobby for 10 dollars each (thanks to the fact they always have their frames half off ) So the project cost me a total of about 22 dollars...not too bad and they turned out really cute.
Great idea! Been trying to figure out what to do for DH that is more sentimental than expensive. What do guys want for Father's Day? DH tends to come up with expensive stuff even though he knows we can't do that right now.
We borrowed Candi's idea and we are doing the painted canvas for DH and for my dad. I just painted them today!
For DH's dad and my grandfather, we made those cement garden pavers where we put Kennedy's hand in the cement, wrote her name and the year. I hope they like them!

Brooke- I got it at Hobby Lobby. They have them 25% off this week.
They have the kits where everything is in one box for $10 and up. (the cement, mold and decorative stones.) But, you can also buy just the cement for around $5 (on the same aisle as the kits) and that makes twice as much as the kits... two 8-inch stepping stones. The plastic mold is $1.99 and I got some of the glass pearls in the floral section for $1.50 on sale.
So, if you don't get the kit and just get the cement and mold separately, you can make two of the 8-inch stones for about $7 total. (after the sale.)

This is what we did last year. It is just like what Candi did. I bought a 3-picture frame and put them in there and he has it in his office.
I am hoping to do them again this year so he can change them out...I just have to find my letters!
