My supply really tanked 2 weeks ago after vacation. I've been able to get back on track by eating oatmeal 1 to 2 times a day, drinking plenty of water, eating enough calories and protein and being really strict to my pumping schedule.
Also whenever I am with DD, I nurse nurse nurse to her demand. At first DH was confused by this and thought I should be pumping and feeding her bottles. But I explained and he finally got it... that if I nurse her #1 I'm not taking a bottle out of the fridge and #2 the frequency tells my body to keep making more!
I ate steel cut oatmeal, had an oatmeal bar, and drank an oatmeal stout and had my highest pumping output yet the other day! Of course, LO has been nursing like crazy the last few days, so it could be that. But I'm doing whatever it takes!
Re: Oatmeal
I'm not sure about the instant oatmeal question.
