Vent: lady at Carters

DS and I went to run some errands today and I somehow ended up at what DH calls the black hole strip mall because I always get sucked in there...Target and Carters side by side.  (Genius by the way if it was planned that way).  I got some great deals for Audrey - I got her coming home outfit and two other 3 piece sets for $15 total!  Yeah sale!  Anyway, as I was checking out, the lady asked if I needed a gift receipt.  I told her no thanks and she said that whomever was getting this really should have a gift receipt.  I told her it was for me and she just looked at me and looked at my belly (cue the crickets here) and then said she just assumed that it was for someone else because I already had DS and assumed I wouldn't have any more....mind you I've never met this woman in my life and am pretty much past the "is she pregnant or just fat" stage since other people have commented that I definitely look pregnant now.  I just looked at her with a funny face and said we're very excited for DS to have a sister, paid, and walked away.  I could hear a few other ladies chuckling who overheard the convo. 

Seriously though, if you work at a place like Carters, learn tact and when to keep your mouth shut and not make assumptions!  Vent over :-)

    Yeah! And if you wanted a gift reciept then you would have asked for one.

    Someone at Carters told one of the ladies fromt the multiples board that she should get preemie sized if her babies weren't "natural" and used ivf or art since "those babies" are usually smallerIndifferent

    Very annoying.

    I know exactly what Target/Carter's you're talking about also...I always get sucked into it...and then get sucked into the Gap Outlet across the street.
