Tell me how you bath LO

I always feel like I need two tubs. One for soapy water and other for rinsing. I use a hand shower most times but it is getting tiring because I have to go to the guest bathroom everytime.

How do you wash LO using only 1 tub? If you take out the soapy water and refill it, doesnt LO get cold in the meantime?

I tried searching for youtube videos but could not find anything easy.

  • We actually use the squirt bottle they gave us in the hospital to spray him off :)

  • At the hospital they gave us the little plastic bowel they used for his sponge bath. Dh is in charge of bath time but he keeps the little bowel with only water and uses that for DS's hair/face.

  • Nope. I fill the tub. Put her in and wash her down. Then I pour a bit of clean water on her. Then I just take her out and dry her off. Its baby soap. there isn't much in it. Patting a bit of the left overs off is NBD.

    Same for me.

  • I bathe him in our guest bath.  I fill his little tub with water and then I fill another small container with clean water.  I use the water in the container to wash his face.  I soap him up with my hands and then soak a clean washcloth in the clean water and squeeze it over him to rinse him off.  He likes the little trickles.

LOL we put his tub in the kitchen sink, soap him up, drain the water and rinse him with the dish sprayer (on a very gentle flow).  Unorthodox, maybe, but it's quick and he seems to like it!

I do almost the same thing except I put his tub on the counter right next to the sink and use the sprayer to rinse him off (LO loves it)!

Agreed.  I always make sure I wash her face first before I add the soap.  And the tub we bought came with a little container with a "showerhead" so we rinse her as best we can with that.  But there's always a few suds left on her that we just dry away.
