XP: Ideas for an "Activity" Baby shower

I want to throw a shower for a friend who doesn't have a lot of friends in this area.  She is concerned about the shower being awkward because there will only be a handful of people (6 or so?) and most of us don't know each other.  So, we are thinking about some sort of activity, like meeting at a paint-your-own pottery place but not paint-your-own pottery.  I guess somewhere where we can all make something for the baby, or do something for the baby... any ideas?

    What about going to one of those places where they help you to assemble meals--things that could go into the freezer.  That way, the new mom will have a freezer full of meal options for after they bring the baby home.  It would be something fun to do and help the mom-to-be out.  This would have to be done pretty close to her EDD though. . .

    I've had fun at showers where we decorated onesies. You just buy a couple of packs of plain white onesies, get some fabric paint, and go to town. You can do that anywhere.

    I don't. . . we just moved back to the area, but I remember seeing posts on the DC Nest board about things like that. . .  Sorry that I don't have a name or more info!

    That's a neat idea. I just went to a "stock the freezer" party where everyone brought 5 (or however many guests there are) 2 person portions of a freezer meal to share. Like a cookie swap, but with frozen food. It's not much of a hands-on activity for the shower, but sharing the recipes would give people something to talk about, maybe?

    I'm not sure where you are, but there is a Let's Dish in Alexandria on 236 and in Fairfax near the intersection of 50 and 29.
