No Braxton Hicks Yet - Anyone else?

I'm 39 weeks. Everyone keeps asking whether I'm having braxton hicks contractions yet. I'm not.

I have random cramps, but none so far that involve my belly tightening.

Anyone else not had any so far? Did you ask your dr about it? I really want to go into labor naturally, and I'm concerned that no braxton hicks might indicate that nothing's going on yet or that I won't go into labor without intervention.

    I can't relate.. but I can say that my doctor laughed at me when I asked if having lots of BH made for an easier labor (ya know.. since they say it's your body's way of preparing..). good luck!

    im 39 & 5 days -- not too many during the day but i get them all night -- in a weird way, very strong & hard ones... but nothing,, i would rather not have em & just have this kid already !!!!

    You might be like me. I didn't realize until last night that I've been having them, quite frequently, for weeks. I've felt this strange not-quite-pressure, full feeling that would come and go and I always associated it with LO's movement. Then last night, while laying in bed, I started to feel that again and I touched my stomach and it was rock hard for a couple seconds.. then it went away.

    I never actually felt my stomach 'tightening' but when I actually touched it, I felt it if that makes sense.

    For the past week or so I've been having menstrual like cramping, which the doctor says is BH but my stomach never gets hard. I hardly ever experience it...MAYBE 3 times a day, if that. I, too, am worried that I'll end up having to be induced because I hear about people having contractions for forever leading up to their labor. I have no idea if the two have any correlation though? I plan to ask my doctor tomorrow!

    I'm just a hair shy of 32w myself, and still none either (but still lots of time to go!).  When I saw my doctor a week and a half ago, I asked if I should be feeling them, and like a previous poster wrote, my doctor laughed as well & said that it's probably a good thing that I'm not feeling them (no false alarms for me to think that I had to go to the hospital).  I do feel kind of weird not having them, as I feel like I'm not the norm, but as I said above - still a few weeks left!

    i haven't had any but i am not as far along as you. my friend has had them since about 28 weeks. my doc said its normal if you dont feel them.
    Me: 31   DH: 34
    Married: 5/12/07
    DD: 7/28/10
