(NBR) some idiot left a dog in their car with the windows up

earlier today when DH and P and I were leaving babies'r'us, i spotted a husky in the backseat of a toyota rav 4 with all of the windows up.  i freaked out.  it was only upper 70's here today but it was very humid (i was sweating in the car with the windows open before the a/c kicked in).  i made DH track down the cop that happened to be circling the parking lot and we told him and drove him over to the truck.  we left him while he was running the plates and putting a call in, hopefully he gave the idiot that did it a ticket.  i have been thinking about that poor dog all day. Sad

    And it was a husky too!  Upper 70's can still turn a car into an oven!  I witnessed that one time when I was much younger and I was so infuriated I wrote them a scolding letter and left it on their window.  I wish I would've thought to call the cops.  I'm sure that would've made them think twice then a letter from a stranger!

    Good for you for getting the police!

    When I read your subject - I was afraid to read because I was afraid to read that maybe nothing had been done......but again, good for you for taking action and speaking on behalf of the dog!!!  You should feel good about yourself :)

    if we didn't find the cop, i would have called them.  huskies can not take the heat!!  but even if it was any breed of dog, the poor thing was panting like crazy....

    that breaks my heart :( good for you for bringing it to the attention of the police. i would've had to fight the urge to break a window and free the poor thing!

    poor puppy! I would have called the police. I just called the police a few weeks ago because it was like 85 and sunny and some a hole walked their two big dogs to the bar and tied them up outside in the blaring sun with no water.

    Good for you for tracking down the cop! I hope that bastard got a big, fat ticket.

    Things like that make me absolutely sick.
