Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Back w/ m/c #2

Hi Ladies,

I had a natural mc on Aug 25.  My OB said to go ahead and start trying again right away.  We were so excited when I got my BFP last week.  This morning I started cramping and bleeding heavily, just like last time.  I am waiting for a call back from my dr.  Please help me think of the things I should ask when I go in this afternoon.  My mind is not working and I want to get this figured out since this is my 2nd m/c in 2 months.  Thanks.

  • I'm so sorry Lisa. I just had miscarriage number two last week. I know how crushing and unbelievable it can be. You get so excited and then feel so defeated. Ask them if there are more tests they can do on you and dh. Tell them you are petrified of another loss and simply can not do it anymore unless you get answers. That's what I did and the Dr. agreed. I will see him this Fri and see what exactly that means. Good Luck and hugs. I'm here for you.

  • That is a lot to go through and I'm so sorry. Just ask what type of testing they can begin. There is a standard panel of tests they do, but some docs wait until after the third one. Good luck getting answers and treatment so that you never have to go through another loss.
  • I am really sorry that you are experiencing this - I had two early pregnancy losses through IVF - the most recent one confirmed today although I have known it in my heart since this past weekend and the really, really, really crappy part about it is that there is usually nothing that they can do at this point.  I asked what I should do - bed rest, what foods, what activities, no sex, no orgasm, the list goes on and on.  I hope that you get some answers but you are not alone, I hope that helps.  I agree with the above posts that you should, and I am, ask about what testing can be done to determine what is going on.
  • I'm so sorry!  Had you had a chance to have your betas tested this time around? I'd have them check your progesterone level. It may be that you need progesterone supplements...
  • I am so very sorry.

I do have low progesterone and have taken supplements with all my pgs.  Unfortunately I didn't have my betas done this time, but I did last time.

  • Hi Lisa - any update?

Clery - how was your appointment?

    Lisa
