question about labor/bloody show - tmi

Yes, I am a second time mom, but my water broke with my first so this is all new to me.  I came to this board hoping to get info from recent moms.

I noticed overnight I had a lot more discharge everytime I got up to pee. Finally turned on the light and noticed it was pink, it gradually got a little more red, and seems to be pinkish again.  I think I'm having contractions 5-10 minutes apart, average 30 seconds, but they are very manageable at this point.  Seems to be early labor?  DH is supposed to leave for work in an hour and I have no idea if he should go or not. 

I guess my actual question is how long after bloody show did you have your dc/go into labor?  Especially for second time moms.  I know it says up to 3 days, but I'm just not so sure about that....

    I had bloody show begin the day before I went into labor.

    The problem is, everyone is different. So it took awhile for me to go into active labor, it might be longer or shorter for you.

    I had some blood Th night/Fri am.  Went to my OB Fri afternoon and no additional progress.  He stripped membranes and DS was born early Sun morning.

    Like PP said, everyone is different & every labor is different, so there's not telling how it will go.  I hope it all goes well for you Big Smile

    I lost parts of my mucous plug, which was pink/red for about 4 days before I went into labor.  However, once I started having contractions he was born the next morning.  I had mild contractions all day and finally went to the hospital at midnight.
    It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!
    IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
    Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops

    Thanks ladies.  I know they are all different, this one is already drastically different from ds #1.  Guess time will tell.  =)

    Bloody show was on Saturday the 10th of April for me. By Sunday night I was having contrax and Monday morning I was in labor.

    I never had bloody show, but DS was born 26 hours after I had contractions 10 minutes apart that I couldn't sleep through. Good luck!

    I started with bloody show at 5 am on a thursday and was able to get my oil changed in my car, go out to eat and then called the hospital around 5pm when my contractions were 4 moniutes apart. They told me to wait until they were very painful so I would be able to be more comfortable at home and be able to drink and eat.

    Around 10pm we went in and at 5am Friday we had Soleil!
