I remember ppl talking about how to figure out how much fomula a baby should be eating based on their weight and the number of times they eat a day but I can't remember it...I am in the process of switching to mostly formula (I nurse him over night/early morning usually twice) and he gets formula during the day. I was only givinh him 4oz of formula but I got new bottles yesterday that make it much eaiser for him to eat and he had 7oz before bed, so I am guessing I was probably not feeding him enough. Please advise! Thanks!
Re: Amount of Formula for a 3 1/2 month old?
Keep in mind that this is just a general guideline and that all babies are different. You may want to check with your pedi to see what he/she suggests specifically for your LO.
Our son is about the same weight and yesterday he only had 19oz of formula plus whatever he ate when he nursed overnight (which is only like 10 mins the 2 times he did) I wonder if that is why he seems to get up more, because he is acutally hungry. I was thinking about trying 6oz in the 4 bottles he will get today plus whatever he eats overnight...my guess is that will probably be around 28-30oz.
