Hi Girls - Big Update!!

So, it's not like I post much anyway, but I've been MIA for a few days. And for a good reason - we had our baby! Yep, baby Zachary decided he wanted out, at just 34 weeks 2 days!

For those interested, here's a short version of my birth story. Monday morning, I went into work and after only a few minutes of settling in and turning on my computer, I felt my water break. It was more like a "gush" and less of a "trickle", so I knew this was definitely it. I grabbed my purse and left work to go back home, calling the doctor and my husband on the way out. I finished packing up the hospital bag (funny thing, I had actually started packing it the night before!), my DH picked me up and we headed to the hospital. After getting settled into my room, my doctor came to do an exam around noon. The good news- I was I was about 3 cm and definitely in labor, but the not so great news - what she felt was definitely butt, not head. So not only was little Zach super early, but he was breech too! I ended up getting a C-section, and baby Zach was born at 2:01 pm. Man, what a crazy Monday!

Zach is in the NICU, and will probably be there for another few days, maybe week or so, depending on how he's doing. He was 4lbs 2oz, but for being so small he's actually doing very well. He is breathing well on his own and didn't need any oxygen. He is learning how to bottle feed (the suck/swallow/breathe thing confused him a little at first), and they're slowly backing off on his IV. Once he's able to feed enough, is gaining weight, and can continue to gain weight outside of the isolette, he'll be ready to come home!

I promise to post a picture soon, since I know that's everyone's favorite part of these announcements!
