I pay $15 for actual Synthroid at Kroger Pharmacy. My endo specifically told me never to use the generic. She said that the generic isn't as regulated and you can have slightly different concentrations each time you refill. For people that are hypothyroid, with hypothyroid symptoms and TTC you need to keep your dose as stable as possible.
" Patients who take generic levothryoxine can, with each prescription refill, receive product from any one of the various manufactures of generic levothyroxine. Since generic levothyroxine does not have consistant potency from one manufacturer to the next, this introduces the possibility that with each new refill of medication, you will get a batch from a different manufacturer... one that is too potent, or not potent enough"

This. I've had problems in the past with the generic medicine, so I only take the name brand.
My insurance mandates that I get 90 day supplies delivered by mail. It's $17 for a 90 day supply if I do it that way.
