Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Potty training, take that!

Major brag alert here.

In one day, Samuel went from having never peed in the potty to peeing in the potty 3 TIMES and telling us once when he needed to go!  He's in big boy underwear and refuses to let Mama put on his diaper!

Who said potty training a boy was hard?

Re: Potty training, take that!

  • That's awesome! It only took one day to potty train my DD. We were really lucky. Not to be a Debbie Downer though, but one of my girlfriends had the same thing happen with her son and he's still having a hard time.

Good news!!!  How the heck are ya?  I have been MIA for awhile now.  Miss chatting with you.  How are the boys? (Shane did it in 3 days, so no trouble here either!)

  • Ah....I spoke too soon. He just walked up to me with a really sad face and said, "Go potty." I looked over where he was sitting and there was a big wet spot. I looked at him again and before I could hug him and tell him it was okay, we'd try again, little buddy started crying--like he'd done something seriously wrong! AWWW!!!

But what progress we've made in one day! I'm thrilled.

And Brigid--miss talking to you too!  We need to catch up on FB.  How is Officer Ayala's wife?  Still pregnant?  How are the babies?

I'd still call this a positive. It's sad that he started crying, but I think that this incident proves that he truly understands the concept of going to the potty. His brain and body just didn't work together fast enough this time.

Carlyn, she is doing as well as can be expected.  I have been living with her for two months.  She is scheduled for her c section 6/24.  I get the honor of being in the OR for the birth!  It will be bittersweet for sure.  She is (Hold on to your hat)...34WEEKS with triplets!!!!  Each baby is weighing in at a little over 4 lbs.  She is an amazing woman.  I miss my husband.  I see him for a few minutes each day, before I make the hour drive to her house with the kids.  But we are in the process of getting a baby nurse to help when they come home from the hospital and her house is almost fully remodeled.

That is incredible (the 34 weeks part). What a wonderful job she's done keeping those babies in utero. Her husband is in heaven looking down on her with pride and love, that's for sure. How lucky she is to have you and your DH there for her and her kids.  And how exciting for you to be in the OR with her!  I'm sure it will be one of the most emotion-filled moments of your life.  I'm thinking of you babe!  Hang in there!

DH and the boys and I will be headed to Minnesota in 2 weeks for my sister's wedding.  I'm actually going to meet Michelle (Miaomi) and her daughter while I'm there!  I'm so excited.  We've kept in touch via FB as well.  Her daughter was born at the end of April and she's just a doll.  She was little--weighed just over 6 pounds.  Michelle laughed when she sent me the e-mail saying she was here and said, "Yeah, so she's 1/2 of what Eli was when he was born!"  LOL!  Maybe someday I'll get the boys out to the DC area to see my sister and nieces and we'll get to visit you, too.
