I have one friend currently breastfeeding & she is a new mom. She said the Medela Manual Harmony was what she preferred over her electronic one. What are the pros & cons of both. I am going to be a stay at home mom & will like to breast feed & bottle feed for when I am out. But my concern is what if baby doesn't take to breastfeeding, I will still want the baby to get breast milk & what if I have to only pump...just need the pros & cons of pumps both electronic & manuel. Also I saw a pillow that may be nice while breastfeeding, the Balboa Nursing Pillow, or is a boppy better? Which one do you all prefer. Thanks girls!

Re: Looking at stuff online (pump question & breast feeding pillow)
the hospital gave me a free simple medela manual when ds was born but i bought the lansinoh and actually loved it! used the manual anytime i was a bit engorged and home.
(I am off work for the summer now)

also i use the boppy. it didnt quite help when he was first home but once he was about 10-12lbs and actually rested on the pillow it was great
A manual may be all you need if you're going to SAH but I also recommend the Lansinoh Double Electric (or the Lansinoh Affinity which I now have - it's got a lot of other nice features and is an improvement over the DE, but it costs a bit more and is louder). The Lansinoh's are relatively cheap and work really well. Whenever I've used a manual, it takes twice as long and it hurts my hand by the end of it. As you said, being willing to pump to give bm even if you experience bf issues was important to me, so I bought the pump before DS arrived as a sign of my dedication to giving breastmilk. Then DS came 6 weeks early and I was so glad I hadn't waited on the pump since I needed to pump while he was in the NICU before he could learn to bf.
The Boppy was a big help in the beginning when I needed two hands to position everything and keep him latched. Plus, it's helpful for tummy time and assisted sitting when they get older. I think it's a wise investment. GL!
