Area between Columbia and Sumter?

Hi there, DH and I might be moving to Sumter this winter. I know that Columbia is a bigger city so I was hoping to live closer to there. Are there any nice areas to live in that would be in between so the commute wouldn't be so bad to either place?

    Sorry hon, not much in between the two unless you want to go very rural.  But it's a very short drive depending on where you settle in Sumter.  If you are close to Shaw AFB it's only about a 30 min drive into Columbia.  If you don't mind rural I know they have some newer homes built in the Hopkins area (closer to Columbia) and off 601 (right in the middle).  Good luck and let me know if you need anymore info!

    I live in NE Columbia in the sandhills area.  I know another SAHM whose DH is at Shaw and they live by me.  So it can be done.  There are good schools/housing in this area, as well as plenty of shopping.  (zip code 29229 if you want to check it out on the map)
