Daycare near Overlea/Fullerton?

Hi ladies I am hoping someone can help me out here.  Right now my DD attends Celebree in Perry Hall but we live in Overlea and the commute (and the cost of the daycare itself) is killing us.  I want to find another DCP that is cheaper (less than 225 a week if possible).  I prefer a center but would not be opposed to an in-home care situation if it's highly recommended.

If anyone can give me some assistance I would really appreciate it.  Our DD is 16 months old.  I am not in a super duper rush to move her from Celebree- it could wait until she is two if necessary- so places with waiting lists are okay too.

  • Parkville Christian Nazarene. Both of my boys went there and I can't say enough good things about them. They are one of the more affordable places in the area and the staff is just fantastic. I believe the website is parkvilledaycare.org

  • I looked at the rates and it's still more than I want to spend and it's not any closer than where we are now.  Celebree is 275 give or a take a week and I am really looking at something less than 225 if possible.  Parkville is still around 250. If it saved me significant time I might consider it but it doesn't really.

I was quoted at $240 for Parkville, that was in January.  All these quotes are from January so they may have changed.  Infants 'n More is $235, but that's just a bit further than Perry Hall and so far, only take kids through the age of 2.  Perry Hall Learning Center is $240/week.  Kid Zone in Perry Hall is $225/week.  Honeygo Child and Development Center is $240/week.  The more expensive ones in the area are Goddard in White Marsh at $1400/month and The Young School in White Marsh at $291/week.  HTH!

  • I also live in Overlea off of Henry and I had trouble finding a center near where I live.  There are several home daycares in the area, which you can find on the MD childcare web site.  My DD was suppose to go to one on Sipple ave but the provider backed out on me at the last minute because a family member needed my spot (this was 8 weeks before I was suppose to go back to work I booked her when I was 20 weeks pregnant.  The contract stated either party could give two weeks notice).  I then put her on the list at Goddard but my mom ended up retiring and now watches DD at my house.  Most of the home centers in the area run between 150 and 200, the most expensive one I saw was 250.  My Friend's little boy goes to kid zone and they really like it but the location was not convenient for me because I would have to fight all the traffic on Belair Road.
