OB/Pedi recommendation in Naperville/Aurora/surrounding?

Hi everyone,

(I apologize if this is a repeat post, but when I search the Chicago board, nothing comes up).  I currently live in the city in Lincoln Square but will be moving to the Naperville area this August.  I am due October 24 and I need to find a new doctor.  Although we'll probably end up in Naperville, I am also open to a great doctor and pediatrician in Downers Grove, Lisle, Aurora, etc.  Also, what hospital do you recommend?

    I'm not thrilled with my OB so I wouldn't recommend them, but I love my pediatrician.  Dr. Pamela Persak with ABC Pediatrics.  They have four other doctors there and they all seem very good.

    You may want to check out Edward Hospital's website for a list of OBs.  At least that's a place to start.

    I recommend Dr Naheed Akhter in Downers Grove. She is only affiliated with Hinsdale hospital though (which I have heard is good). I am due in July

    I second this, she delivered DS, and that practice is really great! I normally see Dr Guant and have nothing but the best to say.

    For pediatricians try to find one that is part of the Dryer Medical Clinic.  When I lived in Yorkville we had an awesome pediatrician who was part of that group.  I LOVED it!  we had a few pretty serious problems during her first year and they were great.  It really helped to be part of a larger group (that used electronic records) so that when my doctor was on vacation or at 9pm on Easter Sunday even the doctor who was just answering the phone could see my daughter's entire medical history.  They have some great doctors and have 24-7 walk-in care at certain locations.  Can't praise them enough!

    Now I just wish I could find something similar in the Schaumburg/Bartlett area!

    I really like my OB, Richard Tom, works out of Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  Haven't found a pedi worth recommending yet.

    For a Pedi, I second the recommendation of Dreyer Medical. We love our Pedi and all our doctors are through Dreyer.

    Also, just an FYI - Rush-Copley has a level 3 NICU

    I secound that I like all the ob/gyn's at Dreyer i just would not recommend judson jones i have heard to much about him and i know he has had some lawsuits but the rest on the dr's there are great and they all have privaleges at rush copley which is a great hospital. the ped doc's at dreyer are great to i love dr skurka in oswego! I see dr mona waheed as my primary, dr anita ganhdi for ob/ gyn, my husband see's dr oostmen for his primary and our ped will be dr skurka

    I love my OB group.  It's Dupage Health Specialists in Lisle (very close to Aurora).  They are a group of 4 women so the chances of your doc delivering are good.  I've met everyone except Dr. Hsia (sounds like Shaw) and I'm thrilled I chose them.

    I broke up with my gynie once I found out I was pregnant since they were so unorganized and uncommuniciative.

    I also belong to Dupage Health Specialists in Lisle.  Dr. Bromberger delivered my DS and Dr. Hsia delivered my DD because Dr. Bromberger was out of town.  I have met all of them and highly recommend them.
