Sonic charged me $47.77

I went to sonic yesterday and spent $2.24.  I check my account this morning and they charged me the $2.24 and another charge for $47.77.  This is one pregnant lady they don't want to deal with this morning.  More than likely they will not be able to do anything about it.  I will probably have to go to my bank and file a dispute.  Just the way I want to start my weekend.  I have so many errands to run today and was not planning on having to go to the town where I made the purchase.  lol

    I had something similiar happen to me before. A cashier asked if I would need a copy of the receipt, since the place was super busy I said "No, that's alright." and then she keyed in double the amount!-I didn't know it until I saw my bank statement as well.

    So, I called immediately to speak to the manager, and then called corp as soon as I got off of the phone w/ them. All they needed was a copy of my bank statement faxed. I blacked-out everything but theirs. They refunded me immediately and sent me a ton of free coupons!

    I have had this happen also...and never had any problems getting my money back! I would call them and tell them what happened...and take the receipt and bank statement if you have them.

    I had something similar happen at Logan's where we had paid with our debit but left a cash tip and marked through the tip line...well our waiter decided to add more of a tip, and charged us almost double for our meal.  We didn't have any problems getting our money back with our receipt and the bank statement, plus we got a free meal from Logan's for another time as well.

    I saw your other post and glad it got worked out. However I will say that not only is what she did illegal, having your card number on the reciept is as well. There is a law now that you can only have the last 4 digits of the card on either copy of the reciept. Your bank will auto refund under $50 and you can dispute for fraud as well.
