My last post got me thinking about this. In your opinion, what is your most difficult errand with your LO? My favorite is the grocery store. He is so happy to ride around and flirt with people. My least favorite would have to be a dr appointment for me. I just tried this for the first time yesterday and it was SO hard to concentrate on what the dr was saying and chase after a toddler trying to do pull ups on the magazine rack at the same time.
Re: most difficult errand with LO in tow
Dr. appt is the most difficult. In a close second is clothes shopping for me! LOL!
Everything else is fine. Grocery shopping - my kids LOVE! ALL 3 of them. They never ask for anything either. In that way, I know I'm blessed!
grocery shopping and doctor apts are super easy for me. Gisele goes to all my OB apts- never had a problem.
Hardest- would honestly have to be buying anything for myself- clothes shopping, or even as simple as something as going into Yankee candle to pick out a candle. I don't know why- but a part of me feels like- all i want to do is go in- find what i need and get out- i don't want to have to pre occupy DD by having her smell the candles or ask what color shirt this one is- so I can make up my mind in less than a nano second. It just isn't enjoyable. Gee- that kinda sounds horrible. But i guess that is why i do most of my shopping for ME- online.
I don't take him to do my big food shopping trip on the weekends, but he does go with me during the week if we need to pick up a few things and he's great. Same thing with going to places like Target, Starbucks or the library. He is a shameless flirt and waves and says, "Hello, lady!" to all the women. It's pretty cute and they usually eat it up.
The worst I guess would be any type of errand where we have to wait for a long time. He's extremely active and after a while, he gets restless.
The Post Office and The Bank are God-Awful!
Gotta stand in a single-file line, too much wide-open space for her to jet off in, and way too much "stuff" for her to mess with. My kid just can't stand still nor keep her hands to herself; I spend the entire time nagging her and then, threatening her and it feels like an eternity as the line moves slower than Christmas!

The worst errand I've ever done with DD in tow was a trip to the County Clerk's office. She was not quite 18mo old and we waited in line for almost 2 hours. I don't remember what we had to do there, I just remember that it had to be done that day, there was no one else to do it, and it was DH's fault - LOL! On the bright side, it was right after the big hurricane and we still didn't have power at home and it was HOT so at least we were in the A/C for all that time.
For regular errands, clothes for me is the hardest. I recently learned that you can not take a stroller in to a dressing room at Target (though my local nesties tell me that some of them have done it, so I know it's not a strictly enforced policy). I was able to take the stroller into Macys and get what I needed, but only after promising DD the earth and stars for her to be good (ok, I really promised to take her to the mall playground and then to chickfila
)
Grocery shopping is pure hell for me when ds is along. He hates being confined in the cart. It's just bad bad bad. Really, ds isn't happy doing anything where he can't be up and moving as he pleases at this point in time.
Luckily my husband has a job where he is usually off 2 weekdays and most other days is home by 3 so I have plenty of time for him to take over ds duties so I can get these things done.
Hair appt or ob/gyn appt. Those would be a tie..I'm torn on which is worse. Yelling at my kids with a speculum up my hoohah or with scissors near my eyes...
Which is why I wait till they're in school to schedule those appts.
So many to choose from...
OB appt? (I had to do this once)
Taking the dog to the groomer? (imagine a baby in a carrier, toddler by the hand and a crazy dog bounding through snowdrifts)
DMV? (2 yr old in a stroller for an HOUR)
Eye Dr? (I finally gave up trying to keep the kids away from the eye equipment after twenty minutes waiting in the room)
this has me dyyyiiinngg hahahaha
Ooh, taking the cats to the vet. That's a bad one.
YES. THIS. EXACTLY.
I totally agree with Stacyc625--if I'm going to actually shop for me, which is rare, I want to do it alone, because all the time and energy it takes to keep the girls occupied and out of mischief sort of takes the fun/relaxation aspect out of treating myself to anything!
For me, it's not any ONE errand that's hard...it's doing more than 2 stops at a time, period. We can do Target and the grocery store in one shot pretty decently, but going into a 3rd store or the post office or anything else just pushes all of us over the edge--one or all of us are tired, cranky, hungry, and/or thirsty by that point, and it gets ugly fast!

Both of mine aren't necessarily "errands" but the two places that I have the most trouble are at a restaurant and church.
My LO likes to clap her hands and laugh while it is quiet in church and at the table in a restaurant insists she gets to eat everything on the table.
