Had my second beta appointment today. On Tuesday, I had my first beta at 17dpo with IVF#2 and it came in at 67. The IVF nurse did not sound positive and said more times than not when numbers come in that low at 17dpo, that the pregnancy isn't viable. She did say she has seen people come in as low as 21 and go on to have a viable pregnancy, but the more common scenario was not a positive outcome.
So anyway, the last few days have been filled with tears, fears, worry, what if scenarios, a lots of prayers. I went into the office today to get a second beta drawn and saw the doc. I told my RE and the nurse I was scared and of course he said he was too. He gave it a 50-50 chance of success (before knowing the second beta number). He said he just doesn't know and we'll have to wait and see what happens, but that he wanted to see the number at no less than 150 today (doubling time of 2.5 days).
So then this afternoon I got the call. My beta went up to 242. That's a doubling time of 38.6 hours. YEA!!! The nurse said RE was very happy with this number. I'm taking it one day at a time because I know we have a long journey ahead of us -- but for now my numbers are more than doubling. I don't go back again till next Thursday -- I'll have blood and ultrasound that day to see if they can see a sac.
I need lots of thoughts, prayers, and doubling dust, girls!!! I am still very cautious to feel any sort of success, but for now I'm happy my numbers are doubling!
