We are shopping for a new vehicle as I now drive a 2 Door Sunfire and obviously thats not gonna work for twins.
My husband is a GM technician so we are going for GM since parts and repairs will not cost much/anything.
Orginally was getting an Impala when found out pregnant but when found out it was twins we have been told that stroller and all will never fit.
The small SUV's like torrent/equinox not sure if gaining any trunk space.
Not sure Im ready for Mini Van!
Any advice on what everyone is driving?
Thanks so much!!!
Re: Vehicle's Best for Twins
minivan. the auto-open doors are a life saver.
yes, you look like a mom in a minivan.... guess what - you are a mom.
This, this, this! Power sliding doors are the best thing ever.

Minivan! We had a Ford Freestyle (crossover) and thought we'd be fine. Wrong! We made the switch when the boys were 5 months old and I love my minivan. You can't beat the space and the sliding doors are a God-send.
Traveling is so much easier with the minivan. When the boys were smaller and needed my attention more, DH would just set up half of the 3rd row for me and I could sit back there and keep an eye on them. I could even watch the DVD player if I got bored!

My vote is Minivan but GM doesnt make one anymore
I had a traverse for a week while my Equinox was in the shop and really liked it. If I didnt have a 3rd child we would get one. Its like a minivan inside but the 3rd row folds down and makes tons of space.
Dont do the Equinox. We have one now and it is just too small for the double stroller, etc. We can get all 3 carseats across the 3rd row barely but when the double stroller is in the back, thats the only thing that fits.
We just bought a 2010 Equinox and we really like it, but when we have a third kid someday, we'll have to get something else.
The two main reasons we went with the Equinox is...
1. DH is 6'8" and because the backseat slides back an additional 8 inches, we could fit 2 carseats in the backseat and DH could sit comfortably in the front without his knees being smashed into the dashboard. We do fit a DSNG in the back with a little bit of additional room for other stuff (not a whole lot though). Once the girls are in convertibles and FF, we can slide the seat up that 8 inches and there will be a TON of room in the back.
2. Cost! Our Equinox was right around $25,000, it is by no means fully loaded, but I got the remote start and bluetooth like I wanted. To get the same features in an Acadia or Traverse, we were looking at $32,000!!!
My DH works for GM so we only buy GM too. Unfortunately GM's van sucks. So if you're like me and not willing to drive their crappy van for the benefit of sliding doors, then IMO the best option is one their larger crossovers - Acadia, Traverse or Enclave. That's if you want to buy new(er). I'm sure there are people who are able to use sedans with their twins, but I'm not interested in that. and you're right about smaller crossovers - they aren't much (if at all) bigger than sedans. Both DH & I are very tall so I worry about how car seats will affect the driver's seat position in a sedan. If you're interested in an older SUV, I drive a Buick Rendezvous, which I love. Trailblazers and Rainiers are good too. They're around the same size.
Also, my twins aren't born yet so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I know a lot about cars, and very little about child rearing
