It's based on income, you can get a good idea of what to expect if you google your state and child support calculator.
Each state does the calculation differently and takes in different factors.
I get $701/month for 2 children and $100 every month to pay back his arrears balance. I dont' actually see much of it b/c he doesn't work but it just adds up and never ever goes away. I also haven't asked for a modification in years b/c I finally taught him to leave me alone and I will quit raising child support.
It all depends on the income of the parents. Other things pay into this also such as child care and possibly medical. Check your state guidelines.
Personally I have received up to $350 a week for two but right now it is only $105 for two and we have a review coming up in Aug. because my DS will be 18 then.
It is based on your incomes. I get $133 a week, so $532 a month for two children. My friend who is also a teacher gets $700 a month for her one child, because her child's father makes more than mine.
What PP said. It's all different. Right now, based on the temporary order I am SUPPOSED to get $1,500/month. He has been paying $1K/month from January through May and now I haven't been getting anything. We have one child together.
I know this sounds like a lot but this is based off of XH putting a shiitload of money in his bank account in the fall of last year. And he has at least $10K/month in expenses for rentals, etc. so he agreed to this amount so I wouldn't delve in further if ya catch my drift

This is why it's not a good idea to compare notes about CS. Every situation is different and when you compare the actual numbers it isn't taking into consideration, the COL of the state, whether or not you were married, what X's income is, and a lot of other factors. It's basically apples to oranges and that's why I don't like to put my CO number out there (but I had already posted in a PP a few days ago). I know that the amount that is CO for us seems extremely high, but here's some perspective: in the month of September 2009 XH deposited $40K into his checking account.

Yeah, he wasn't doing anything illegal.
Don't ask questions, just take the money....that's my motto!
Oh, and a friend of mine who's STBXH is possibly into similar things as XH pays her $3K/month. Wow!
It is based on income but I get $338 per month for my 19 month old. She is the only child I have.
In the state of Alaska it's 23% of the persons income for one child and for every other child it goes up 11%.
If I decide to go for CS, X will pay $550 a month.
