Looking for an apt in West Kendall Miami

A friend is looking for an apartment in West Kendall or Kendall area in Miami (she works near Dadeland).  She said that her budget is $900 or less, which is hard to find.  I figured I would post here and see if anyone knows of any place.  Ideally, she'd like a 2 bedroom apt since she has two daughters, but she would take a 1 bedroom if she could find one for the right price, even if it's not in Kendall.  She is a single mom, and it's tough, so anything anyone knows would be helpful.

TIA!

Tania

  • If she works in the Dadeland area, and is interested in renting there, she may want to try the apartments across the street.  I know there is a lot of vacancies now, so they owners may be flexible w/ the pricing... something to look into.  If I hear of anything, I'll page you.

  • yeah, across the street, by the shorty's- you know those two tall cream colored buildings?- there are a few vacancies there.  My cousin actually just moved out of there.  Most condos there are now a flat fee, but they include water, waste, association fees, cable, phone, internet, etc... and they're renting them out dirt cheap.

if she is looking for more bang for her buck, so to speak, check out king's colony on kendall by the Wendy's.  About 6 years ago they were less than $700 for a 2 bedroom.

Bridgett lives in west kendall, I think, maybe she has some recs!

  • Thanks, ladies!!  I'll tell her to look into those apts there.
  • There are plenty of apartments for rent in the West Kendall area. We actually live in the Hammocks. We love that area because you have all 3 greats schools near by, the library, Publix, Windixie, banks, parks, the Police and Firestation close by. I would never rent from one of those rental communities again. They semi fix things with a freash coat of paint, new carpet and a good cleaning job- but the appliances are a POS- (peice of shhhht).

Another thing to worry about is- who you are renting from. There is a lot of scams out there and you need to know about the property. Which you can search online very easily. I would totally recommend my realtor who helped me look at the place we are now. I looked at about 5 places before setting my mind on where we are now and we negociated a great deal for a 3/2.

Here is her info: Janeth Nandjar: 305 519 8805. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll me more than happy to help!

  • Thanks, Brig!  My friend just told me she found a place.  Sounds like you got a great place, though!
