Pregnant after a Loss

Holy Bloat!

Hi ladies! I'm rather new to the PgAL community (got my BFP on Monday). I'm cautiously getting comfortable with the idea of being pregnant, but still have days where I do nothing but worry.

So, my question is...did anyone use the bella band? My bloat is crazy! I was just looking for some recommendations for what worked for everyone. I think I may have to purchase something this weekend!

Re: Holy Bloat!

  • I am definitely having a crazy amount of bloating and would love if it would start to taper off now! I wake up feeling fine and by 10:30 a.m. my stomach will be rock hard and I will be so bloated that I can't even drink water. My DH is actually amazed at how hard my stomach is...he calls it my six pack ab. Except that it is protruding out like a basketball.  Drinking anything is actually painful which then results in my feeling very dehydrated. I deal with this everyday and would love for it to end.

Good luck and I hope your bloating passes!

  • I used it for a bit...then I just started wearing skirts that I could sit about my bloat or that were stretchy.

At some point I started not being able to fit my pants over my ass, plus it's hot as hell here, so I gave up on pants! I got the cheaper one from Target, the BeBand and never had a problem with it.

  • I also go the BeBand from Target and loved it.  Never had an issue with it rolling up, it always stayed in place.  I switched to maternity clothes once my zippers started digging into my stomach, but the BeBand was a nice for making my regular pants fit a while longer.

  • Bloating rocks doesn't it lol

I used the MH version of the Bella Band, I didn't find it useful at all.

  • Thanks ladies, I thought I was too early to be experiencing this, but I guess I was wrong!
  • I'm still on the fence about the Bella Band.  I use them but I feel like I'm always tugging and readjusting them.  I'm rockin' some maternity pants today and I'm soooooo comfortable.  They're falling down occassionally but I'd rather that then feeling squished all day.

  • I dealt with bloating for awhile. I just the trick where you loop a ponytail holder through your button whole. This worked until I was about 8 weeks and needed maternity clothes full time. Good luck!
