I would say it depends on how often you will do laundry and wash the bottles. You could probably just sleep LO in the sleep sack so you could maybe skip the sleepers. I would say three or four of either (or both). I think onesies come in a package of 5 so I would just get one package. You are probably going to want to buy cute outfits once you find out whether its a boy or girl, and will probably not use the plain onesies much. That will probably be enough to do laundry twice a week. Also don't forget socks! DD went through 1 package of diapers a week the first two weeks. I don't remember the package size but it was the largest package that didn't come in a cardboard box. As for bottles, I didn't FF but if you think about the LO eating every 2-3 hours and maybe going a little longer at night, you might go through 8-10 bottles a day in the beginning, so it just depends how often you want to wash them.
diapers? ('sposies) - figure about 10 diapers a day for a newborn, so it just depends on how many you want to have on hand.
bottles? (I'm not BFing) - Not sure how many FFing people go through, I would guess have around 10 at least?
onesies? & sleepers? for both of these items you are going to want a lot but since you don't know the gender I would get the bare minium for now maybe 5 onsies and 2-3 sleepers
bottles: I BF but my SIL didn't. She bought one package of the Drop-Ins (a sampler that had like 5 bottles in it and a bunch of different nipples). Then she bought a package of the disposible drop ins.
Honestly, you don't NEED that much. If you find you need more someone can always make a run to the store.
ETA: sorry for crappy formatting, sent from my phone...
('sposies) - I would have at least 2 40+ ct on hand. You don't want too many b/c you might not like the brand and LO could have an allergy. It took us about 2 weeks to figure out what worked for E and us.
>bottles? W/ formula you'll feed about every 3 hours. You can store premixed bottles in the fridge for about 24 hours. You'll want to do this. You will need at least 8. I'd get 10. Then wait to buy some more later. You will only want to wash bottles once a day.
Do you know what formula you are going to use? If you use powdered, drop-ins won't work because you can't mix in the bottle for those.
I like glass bottles because I feel they are more sanitary. I have no research and I might be wrong but I still like them better. I use the evenflo bottles. My b pump fit right on them, do I could pump & store for the next feeding. Now that were 100% formula, I 'm still happy w/ them.I've also used plastic & I like the avent & dr. B ones.
onesies- 2 packs. If it's a girl, she can wear them w/ a Jean skirt& a bow in her hair. If it's a boy, he can wear em w/ shorts. Do you have a/c? If do you'll want to put them on under sleepers to keep baby warm.
sleepers?Like the Jammie kind? We have like 40. I have some she's never enen worn. Sorry no help...
swaddle wraps? (the sleep sack kind) - I swaddled e the old fashioned way. She hatedbeung swaddled anyway. We had 1 that was a gift, I used it once & she hated that too. I'd say no more than 2 w/ a few extra receiving blankets(the flannel kind), then you can buy more.
Re: What do I really need?
I am not much help for some of the items, but I can tell you what I did.
onsies: I have 3 outfits in each size at a time since I do diaper laundry a lot it doesn't phase me to wash DDs clothes often
sleepers: again 3
swaddle wraps: did not use
diapers: did not use disposables for cloth I have about two dozen prefolds and 6 covers in each size
bottles: I BF
